All these elements must be possessed by students so that their writing skill will be good. Most students have not mastered writing skills well. Because they have poor grammar knowledge, lack of motivation, low self-confidence for fear of making mistakes, so they will give up without completing their task while writing a text. Writing errors are also because the teacher does not provide material and training on correct writing techniques to students. Therefore, writing skill is not enough to learn grammar and learn knowledge of writing theory but to develop it through a process of training and experience.
One of the factors in the formation of this topic is the lack of student motivation in writing. We can see this in a classroom situation, most of them are sleepy and lazy during teaching and learning process. In addition, students' writing skills are low because we can see that their writing products are not satisfactory, such as many word errors found. Also writing skills have a little portion and the most widely taught is reading skill. Therefore, students lacked writing practice. Besides that, students feel insecure or afraid to share their written work to the public. They feel feedback or criticism from teachers or other friends is a painful weapon for them. Therefore, students become afraid and do not practice their writing skills. It is the teacher's main role to build positive thinking towards learning writing that is easy and interesting. Teachers are required to motivate students and innovate in teaching them to write by creative media.

In this journal, the author investigated grammatical errors and the types of those errors which were found on the narrative texts written by the students of Mathematics & Natural Science (MNS) and Social Studies (SS) streams at a Madrasah Aliyah UINSU. This study was analyzed using the adoption of the Coder's EA approach which involved 60 students' narrative texts. The research problem being addressed is the frequency of grammatical errors, types of grammatical errors, and the differences of grammatical errors made by MA students of MNS and SS streams in writing narrative text. This journal is interesting because that research problem presented the unexpected final results from the MNS and SS streams. I think this journal also can helps teachers to gain significant insights into what strategies they employ to develop communicative competence in written English discourse, particularly in writing narrative essays.
