This research is motivated by conventional learning tendencies that have implications for poetry ... more This research is motivated by conventional learning tendencies that have implications for poetry creative writing skills. This study uses the creative writing independent variable and the dependent variable creative writing poetry. The sample in this study was Class 2 students MAN Aek Natas, Kec. Aek Kuo. Labuhan Batu Utara academic year 2019/2020 and the research instrument used was an observation sheet and pre-test and post-test which were first tested for validity, reliability, distinguishing features and levels of difficulty. Processing test data using descriptive statistics. In this study consisted of a control class that is a class without creative writing techniques and an experimental class that is a class that uses creative writing techniques in learning to write poetry. The results of the pre-test data analysis showed that both classes had the same initial ability, and after treatment, from the post-test data with a non-parametric mean difference test with polled .This means that there are differences in the ability to write poetry between the experimental and control classes. The results of the gain index analysis showed an increase in the poetry creative writing skills of the two classes.

This article can be an alternative solution to the problem teacher with the student when teaching about grammar in the class. In this article explains that Corder (1988) argues the importance of grammar to produce speech received and can help in the skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. The explain many English teachers who are teaching grammar are deductive so they can't use communicative language because the grammar rules are given with them memorizing and following according to the rules has been modeled. From Yarahmadzehi's article (2018) today many students still find learning grammar very boring and lazy to learn it. Therefore, the teacher looks for effective ways to help students remember and look for ways for students to use grammar knowledge in communication. The teacher must also create a pleasant atmosphere and take a good approach in providing grammar learning by providing interactive activities to help students' grammar skills. So to make grammar learning fun, there are some ideas which are grammar based games. It is hoped that the grammar-based game can help students understand. Chen (2005) explains that games are motivating and offer students a fun-filled and relaxing learning atmosphere. Through games, students also have the opportunity to use language in a non-stressful way focusing on both the message and the language. This article researchers list several teaching methods and approaches from several experts that provide effective results.
