The nominations are: 💙 Mercy Adera, staff nurse 💙 Thomas Cook, anatomical pathology technician 💙 C9 ward team 💙 F6 ward team 💙 Neurophysiology team Best of luck to all who have been shortlisted, and a huge thank you to our 592 nominees in this category! Kindly supported by Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) #CUHproud - Former Chair of CUH and now Co-Chair of the Fundraising Campaign Board for Cambridge Children's Hospital, Dame Mary Archer, explains her determination to see a new Children's Hospital built on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus in the East of England - the only region without a specialist children's hospital. "By bringing physical and mental healthcare together for the first time and embedding research at the heart of the hospital, we will treat the whole child, not just their illness," says Dame Mary about the new Children's Hospital. "It will also house a world-class research institute looking at childhood illnesses including diabetes, obesity and genetic disorders. Many illnesses, such as anorexia, cancer and epilepsy, affect children both mentally and physically." Construction will start on the new facility in 2026 following ministerial approval of the Project's Outline Business Case, which was signed off by the new Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury in August.
