Today, on #NationalEngineeringDay, we're proud to unveil an inspiring new tribute to modern engineering - a vibrant statue of Alice Kan, designed by the talented Kelly Anna. Breaking away from traditional bronze and marble, this statue brings a fresh, contemporary look to central London, highlighting the important contributions of engineers today. Alongside Alice’s statue, Kelly Anna's digital artwork, Engineering Role Models, showcases four more influential engineers: Navjot Singh, Meg Ginsburg, Dr. Shini Somara, and Laura Hoang. Each of these remarkable individuals brings unique insights and innovations, showing the diverse impact of engineers in shaping a better future. With women currently representing just 15.7% of the UK engineering workforce, down from last year, visible role models are more important than ever. Alice Kan hopes this initiative sparks curiosity, helping people see the creativity, problem-solving, and positive change engineering can bring. Who inspires you in engineering? Join the conversation with #EngineeringRoleModels and #NationalEngineeringDay. We're putting SOFC and LOHC to the test! 🤜🤛 Did you know we're combining our solid oxide fuel cell (#SOFC) system with a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (#LOHC) in a pilot project at Hermann Josef Hospital, Erkelenz? In collaboration with Hydrogenious LOHC, we aim to significantly reduce carbon emissions while creating a more efficient and affordable energy supply in the long term. The LOHC stores hydrogen, which is released through an on-site dehydrogenation unit and fed into the SOFC. Heat from the SOFC will eventually power this system, but until then, it will be electrically heated. ▶️Find out more about our innovative project: https://lnkd.in/dTXNuVa9ℹ This pilot project is coordinated by the Helmholtz Hydrogen Cluster (HC-H2), based at Forschungszentrum Jülich, and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung).#Bosch #futuretechnology - Thanks Eric Lakin for all your support, we wish you the very best for the future. #leadership #ceres #team

Reflecting on this week's annual strategy offsite with the Board and Executive of Ceres Power plc, it's been a genuine privilege to serve with such a smart and inspiring team of individuals with a clear vision and purpose. Thank you #cleanenergytechnology #UKchampion hosted by Roffey Park Institute - Congratulations to the OGE team on the successful completion of the #SOFC pilot project! The impressive operation time and efficiency metrics are a testament to the reliability and potential of SOFC technology in decentralised energy supply. We look forward to the continued collaboration and innovation in this field.
#SOFC pilot project with OGE (Open Grid Europe) successfully completed! 🚀 After the standard 3-year pilot project runtime, we achieved an impressive operation time of 20,767h with the same stack and unit. The SOFC unit's reliability in maintaining efficient gas supply and powering a compression plant at the OGE operating site in Krummhörn has been demonstrated through its generation of 158,611kWh of electricity, equivalent to the average annual consumption of 54 four-person households in Germany in 2023*. With an average of 7.6kW electrical power output and electrical efficiency of 57%, the SOFC system proves an impressive performance. After dismantling, the unit was relocated to the Bosch site in Renningen for further analysis and evaluation. 🔍 This contributes to our continuous learning and and the integration of these valuable insights into further optimization of the final serial product. Meanwhile, OGE is continuing to test further promising technologies to ensure a reliable gas supply. Proud to contribute to the advancement of decentralized #energysupply. 🤜🤛 * The average 4-person household in a multi-family building without electric water heating consumed on average 2,900kWh of electricity per year in 2023 (Source: Statista, https://lnkd.in/eqRDy4B9On the picture: Harald Beek & Lars Lüppen (OGE), Martin Scheerer & Michael Helm (Bosch) - It was fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm at our partner Thermax Limited's show stand on the opening day of ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference 2024, Ceres’ Strategic Business Development Director, who attended the conference on behalf of Ceres, had this to say about this year's event. “Great to be at ADIPEC once again this year, and to see several of our potential partners and off-takers based in the Middle East. It is great to see the momentum and investment taking place in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Egypt as mega renewable energy and green hydrogen programmes gain more traction.
