- Happy International Youth Day! At Goals House, we understand that perhaps our greatest asset as we work towards a sustainable future is the diversity, creativity, and commitment of young people across the world. We're proud to have worked with the United Nations and youth activists to ensure the voices of younger generations are represented on the global policy agenda. Read more below about the UN Futures Lab's work in ensuring this critical perspective is represented.#YouthDay #YouthLead #SDGs #GlobalGoals
To celebrate International #YouthDay this year, we have partnered with the UN Futures Lab to invite young people around the world to join an interactive foresight activity centered around celebrating young people's role as changemakers. We know that tackling the complex crises facing our world today requires urgent action, systemic shifts and enabling environments that elevate the role of young people as the leaders of today and tomorrow. Yet current power systems have continued to prioritize short-term thinking and benefits at the expense of our shared future. Youth foresight and futures thinking are key tools at our disposal to change this narrative. Until the end of the month, young people are invited to share their insights and perspectives by completing a short online survey (available in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian). By helping to better understand probable and possible futures, this process will help define what preferred futures we should collectively and collaboratively work towards. Preliminary findings to be presented at the Summit of the Future Action Days this September. Indigenous insights are pivotal for biodiversity conservation and achieving the Global Goals. They offer unique perspectives that significantly enhance our environmental efforts. At Nia Tero and Goals House, we’ve collaborated at key global moments, from Davos to UNGA and COP, ensuring Indigenous voices are heard and included in the decision-making process. Join us in recognising the responsibility we all share to foster harmony between people and the planet. 🌱✨
