Nature4Climate aims to increase action on natural climate solutions in support of the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
About us
Nature4Climate is a multi-organization strategic communications platform to help raise the profile of natural climate solutions and catalyse action on the ground. Natural climate solutions are proven ways of storing and reducing carbon emissions in the world’s forests, grasslands and wetlands, and better stewardship of the land also has impact on other critical environmental, social and economic benefits, which are less well understood. These solutions are available immediately, are scalable and can transform key sectors of the global economy, such as forestry and agriculture – and they are available almost everywhere on the planet. Despite the fundamental science being very well understood, action on land use remains much underused as a climate strategy – lacking the funding and attention that has helped kickstart the energy transition. We use creative communications and advocacy to influence international climate policy, national government policy, and private sector action on implementing natural climate solutions between now and 2023. We bring together voices from governments, IGOs and NGOs, and business – underpinned by a steering group with communications and advocacy representation currently from CBD, CI, TNC, the UNDP, WHRC, WRI and WWF.

- There is no climate or economic solution without nature. Governments must incorporate nature into policy, and businesses and investors must recognize the economic opportunities of preserving and restoring ecosystems. 🍀 Today, the Nature4Climate coalition is excited to announce the launch of its new unbranded campaign: ➡ WITH NATURE. A flexible platform, the new campaign calls out to diverse sectors to take action and advocate for nature´s agency in tackling the climate and biodiversity crises as they reach a turning point. Together, we can LEAD WITH NATURE. We now nominate Crowther Lab | ETH Zurich to join us in this campaign and share their commitment to act with nature.#WithNature #ClimateAction

🌿 Exciting insights on #NatureTech at today’s Nature Hub session at #ClimateWeekNYC! I'm very proud to have been part of putting it together. We saw how collaboration between tech providers and corporates is accelerating the journey toward #NetZero and #NaturePositive goals. From biodiversity tracking on the high seas with SailGP, natural capital accounting with Wipro, ecosystem restoration with Salesforce, and regenerative design with Jacobs, it’s clear that real-world solutions are driving impact. 🌍 💡 Key takeaways: 1. Transparency in data is critical, even when it reveals challenges. 2. AI and satellite technology are game-changers for conservation and restoration efforts. 3. Partnerships between corporates and tech providers are unlocking innovation. A big shoutout to the inspiring speakers at today's event who are championing these efforts – they are making a tangible difference for nature, people, and climate. Launching a new campaign is always a nerve-wracking moment for any comms professional. But I must say, nothing compares to witnessing live the smiles, nods and even goosebumps from the audience as they first see - in sound, colour and emotion - what has for months only existed as an idea in your head (and an ever too long email chain). Nature4Climate has a track record of incredible collaborative, mission-driven campaigns that have taken over the nature and climate agendas. The #NaturePositive movement grew from seedling to flower, highlighting the power of nature as a climate solution. We could not be prouder of all our partners who believed in it and helped push it through. Now, we have to move on to action. I am extremely excited and moved to have launched our new collaborative, unbranded campaign __WITH NATURE yesterday at the Nature Hub. With multiple calls to action, the campaign invites governments, businesses, investors, practitioners, and the peoples of the world to LEAD, WORK, GROW, INVEST, PLAN, ENGAGE, CONNECT, ACT with nature. A huge THANK YOU to all who were there in person for our official launch. And for those who could not make it, it's never too late to join our movement WITH NATURE. 🌍 Special thanks also to my brilliant team Mariana Ceccon, Lucy Almond, Emmylie Borg Nilsson,James Lloyd, Ben Jack, Nimshani Khawe, Lea Blanchet for all the work and support. And of course, huge kudos to our amazing creatives at MSQ/Sustain who brilliantly endured our briefing calls and came up with these breathtaking visuals! Nature has never been higher on the agenda for investors at New York Climate Week - and not a moment too soon. As the devastating wildfires in Brazil make clear, achieving a secure future is possible only by aligning finance and investment now to protect, restore and sustainably manage nature. The good news is that the pipeline of investable Nature-based Solutions (NbS) is growing in Brazil and around the world. ➡ Proud to have contributed to the development of this report launching today at #NewYorkClimateWeek with High-Level Climate Champions, Capital for Climate, IFACC Initiative which highlights that investing in nature and sustainable agriculture practices can deliver significant, mutually reinforcing benefits for businesses, investors and society. We encourage you to read the full report for insights on the size of the investment opportunity in Nature-based Solutions today: 🔎 Market data on the growth in the pipeline of investible NbS 📚 Expert global and regional perspectives on project success factors ⏭ Next steps to scale private financing for nature This positive momentum is reinforced by the launch of Nature Investment Lab led by Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) BNDES Institute for Climate and Society Itaúsa Banco do Brasil and other key partners, to support the roll out of bioeconomy and nature based solutions at scale. By investing in NbS now, financial institutions and businesses can deliver on their own net zero commitments, while generating strong risk adjusted returns and helping accelerate sustainable development for countries and people. The next year will see major milestones in the international and national policy landscape, and for corporate and financial delivery towards net-zero and nature positive. Now is the moment to scale nature finance. - 💸 Where is the money for forests? Currently, forests are often worth more dead than alive, and various economic drivers are the leading causes of forest loss. Therefore, changing economic incentives is critical to curbing the tide of deforestation. 💲 So where does money to protect forests come from? Nature4Climate surveyed existing resources and analysis to help answer this question. In the article below, we look at 14 sources and uses of finance to assess both their current and potential contributions to keeping forests around the world standing. 🔗 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/e3RfQTM3📝 Here are our three main takeaways: 1. Public finance is critical, but it is unlikely that it will exponentially scale year on year. Rather, it’s about finding ways to allocate these resources in the most impactful way possible 2. Scaling up private sector finance is critical, and while there are a number of mechanisms with long-term potential, the voluntary carbon market presents one of the solutions with the highest near-term potential. But to achieve this potential, the VCM must overcome significant headwinds and concerns over quality. 3. It is important to focus on improving and implementing the mechanisms that are available today, as well as continuing to push for new solutions, bigger, longer-term policy levers, and even the moonshots that could deliver massive impact. 🗣 Do you agree with our findings? How would you rank these different solutions? Fill out our survey to share your thoughts on what we got right, and what we got wrong in the overview below: https://lnkd.in/ey5gi2Be #ClimateWeekNYC #ClimateAction #NatureFinance #NaturePositive
