At #KidsConf we were next joined by Nielsen BookData's Philip Stone to find out more about the downs and ups of the children's market in 2024. Philip's fascinating presentation included: 📚 Bestsellers of 2024 so far 📚 Top authors of 2024, with Julia Donaldson in the number 1 spot, sales approaching 2 million copies 📚 44% of all children's books were bought online or via an app (over a 12-month period) Stay tuned for more insights from our Children's Conference throughout the day 💡 - Exciting times in Paris! On September 24 and 25, Andre Breedt and Eleanor Pigg had the pleasure of attending the ISBN AGM, where over 90 agencies from around the world gathered to exchange ideas and share ISBN insights. It's always a great opportunity to connect with other agencies, each year in a different city. A big thank you to everyone involved in the organising, see you next year São Paulo #isbnagm #isbn

Last night we attended the Mo Siewcharran Prize ceremony, hosted by Hodderscape and held on the Hachette UK rooftop, featuring incredible views over London. The winner was The Treaties We Break, by Tina Shah, who is seen accepting the award in the video below. The first and second runners-up were Deity of a Drowning Realm by K Andrea White, and Modern Day Dragons by Ana Sun. Now in its 5th year, the Mo prize aims to recognise and celebrate underrepresented writers, featuring a different theme each year, and this year's theme was fantasy. The prize was set up by John Seaton, the husband of our late, much-loved colleague Mo Siewcharran, who worked at Nielsen BookData for 16 years and was director of marketing and communications. As always, it's an honour to sponsor, and a pleasure to attend these awards. As expected, the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much to Hachette for hosting, and a massive congratulations to all the prize winners! 🎉 #moprize #moprize2024 #moprize24 #hachette #publishing #hodderscape #fantasy #genrefiction - 🎉 We're delighted to be partnering with FourthRev, an edtech leader renowned for bridging the gap between universities and industry partners, on the innovative programme: Data Science With Machine Learning & AI Career Accelerator for the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education.
