To create a better world for pets and the people who love them.
About us
Established by Pets at Home in 2006, Pets at Home Foundation is a registered charity. We believe that every pet deserves a loving forever home therefore over the years we are proud to have worked alongside rescue and rehoming organisations across the country who strive to help pets in need find their forever loving homes. This year we have broadened our objectives which now allows us to support charities who work alongside pets and the people who love them. We will strive to work alongside likeminded partners to support those people who benefit either through the addition of a pet or through time spent with them. We are passionate about helping pets and people and our work is only made possible by the incredible fundraising of Pets at Home colleagues and the generosity of pet lovers who believe in our mission, so thank you!

- Do smaller grants have a big impact? Yes! The Goole and District @RSPCA branch held a โDog Action Day,โ which was funded by a ยฃ4,000 grant we gave them last year for neutering and welfare checks of owned dogs. The day was well attended by 66 dogs with their owners; and here's the results of the day: ๐พ 58 had health checks ๐พ 37 were neutered ๐พ 46 were treated for fleas and worms ๐พ 19 had chip details updated ๐พ 2 were chipped for the first time ๐พ 1 dog had further help with a severe skin allergy. It was a successful event, and it shows that even smaller grants can make a difference for pets and the people who love them ๐
- We love it when Pets at Home colleagues help us surprise charities with giant cheques! When the store managers from the Kettering, Colby, and Wellingborough Pet Care Centres found out that we were surprising Animals in Need (Northamptonshire) with a ยฃ20,000 cheque for a grant towards a building project, they all wanted to be involved with sharing the great news. Animals in Need is a Community Partner with all three stores, and it's evident that they all have great partnerships with the charity. The funds will be used to create a dedicated โmeet and greetโ space for potential adopters and build an area that behaviourists can use for training and working with the dogs, adopters, and fosters before they take them home. The charity hopes this will increase the number of adoptions, and we look forward to seeing the new build ๐ฅฐ
- Our Head of Charity and Community Amy Angusrecently visited Hector's House cat rescue to celebrate the opening of their new cattery, a project that our charity was proud to support. The new facility will provide much-needed care and shelter for cats in the Torquay and surrounding area. We are excited to share the final video edit showcasing the impact of our work - watch this space!
- Our rescue centre grants are helping pups like Neyo, Ryan, Zoe, and Barley while they wait for their forever home. We awarded Northern Greyhound Rescue a ยฃ5,000 grant for its vet bills and boarding fees. The money arrived in good time to help sweet Barley, who's temporarily part cat while sporting a tiger stripes cast ๐ The charity said, โBarley, the nine-week-old Lurcher pup, came to us with a badly fractured leg. We had it fixed the same day she arrived by an orthopaedic specialist, and sheโs recovering in foster care and looking for her forever home.โ Thanks to the grant, the Blackpool based rescue will be able to continue rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming pets in need ๐
- We're delighted to see the Scottish SPCA impact report, which shares a snapshot of the important work they do to help animals, pets, and people in need across Scotland! Here are a few stats coming out of their latest impact report: ๐ 4,404 animals they took in needed veterinary treatment ๐ Pet Aid (funded by the Pet's Foundation) supported 56 foodbanks and more than 400 pets and their owners were supported each month ๐ 459 animals fostered and 3,881 pets rehomed Do you want to learn more about their activity last year? - Weโre proud to announce that our Fundraising Manager, Amy Wilson, is speaking at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIOF) North West Fundraising Conference 2024. The conference runs from 18th-19th September at the Crown Plaza in Chester. Amy will speak to the attendees today about our biggest yearly fundraiser, the Santa Appeal, and its development from a simple idea to a ยฃ2m national appeal that runs across over 450 Pets at Home stores and now encompasses all areas of the business. As a member of the CIOF for over 18 years and treasurer of the North West CIOF Committee, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the conference. Amy is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience. She says, 'I look forward to exchanging ideas with fellow fundraisers across different sectors. It's also exciting to welcome new fundraisers to the conference for the first time." Our Fundraising Coordinator, Amy Cooke, will also attend the two-day event, so be sure to say โhiโ if you see them there #Fundraising #ProudFundraiser
- We're so proud of our fearless fundraisers who conquered their fear of heights ๐ Last Friday, 17 brave Pets at Home colleagues jumped 15,000 ft out of a plane for the Foundation ๐ Thanks to all of the donations, an incredible ยฃ6,270.72 was raised between them! Let's celebrate these amazing people ๐
- We're cheering on our incredible Pets at Home colleagues who are about to take the plunge (literally!) for the Foundation ๐ They're facing their fears to raise money for pets and the people who love them ๐ Their support means we can continue helping our amazing charity partners. Wish them luck as they prepare to jump out of a perfectly good airplane ๐ช To donate in support of their bravery, head here โฌ๏ธhttps://lnkd.in/epZFsruJ
- September marks #AnimalPainAwareness month, and weโre highlighting important information about osteoarthritis, or degenerative joint disease, in our canine companions! Like humans, our dogs can get these conditions, and itโs beneficial to be aware of the signs so you can speak to your vet for guidance if you notice any of these: ๐พ Slowing down, becoming less playful, eating less, or seeming a little stiff ๐พ Licking at swollen joints or painful joints ๐พ Displaying lameness or stiffness after resting or exercise ๐พ Showing muscle wastage ๐พ Acting restless or not being able to get comfy on their beds ๐พ Exhibiting behavioural changes
- We're so proud of our Pets at Home colleagues who weren't afraid to get a little muddy as they raised funds for the Foundation at Saturday's Tough Mudder in Birmingham. One of the mudders, Andy, said, "This day was excellent and challenging. I did it to make a difference to all the pets that the Foundation supports, and I chose Tough Mudder because I knew it would be hard work." Hannah said, "I chose to do Tough Mudder to challenge myself and raise awareness of the Foundation. The Pets Foundation is incredible and I just donโt think communities are fully aware of the work they do. I recently lost my family pet of nearly 14 years, and it broke me; I needed this day. I had so much fun and brought a real sense of togetherness, a whole new meaning to Teamwork ๐"
