About us

TT International is an alpha-driven specialist investment manager, with a long and successful history of investing for sophisticated institutional clients around the world, including leading sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds and superannuation funds. Since 1988, TT’s journey has seen us evolve from our macro hedge fund origins into a manager with cross-asset long-only and long/short capabilities spanning global markets. Throughout this time, we have remained true to our hedge fund roots, implementing the principles of high alpha generation combined with state-of-the-art risk management capabilities across our alternative and long-only products. Having achieved strong risk-adjusted performance and asset growth in these products, we now manage $5.5bn (30/09/2024). Just as our product range has evolved, so has our ownership structure. In 2020, TT was acquired by leading Japanese financial services organisation, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. This partnership provides a strong and stable parent, helping us to continue launching innovative products that meet the constantly changing needs of our clients, while enhancing our global distribution capabilities. Crucially, we retain the autonomy and incentive structures that allow us to attract world-class professionals across our entire business, from investment and risk management to back office, sales and client servicing.

Earlier this week, Investment Director Mike Jennings gave an inspiring and insightful talk to the Year 10 students of Chelsea Academy. Mike shared his expertise on asset management, highlighting its relevance to everyone, no matter their career path, and offered valuable advice on how students can align their strengths and interests with their future educational and professional choices. We are delighted to announce details of the six team members that will lead TT’s Emerging Markets (“EM”) Debt offering. This is a natural extension of TT’s capabilities, given its longstanding involvement in global macro and EM strategies. The high-calibre team is spearheaded by Jean-Charles Sambor, formerly EM Debt Head and Lead Portfolio Manager of EM Debt strategies at BNP Paribas Asset Management (“BNPP AM”). He is joined by two additional Portfolio Managers, a Senior Analyst and a Senior Trader, all of whom have previously worked together at BNPP AM. The team is reinforced by another Senior Analyst specialising in EM high yield issuers and special situations. The new team consists of Jean-Charles Sambor, Alex Zunega, Stefan Roessler, CFA, Ronald Huang, CFA, Di WANG and Michael L. who will be running various strategies focusing on EM Debt across sovereign and corporate credit, FX, and rates. The steel sector faces significant economic challenges, and policy support is crucial for green steel to become a competitive advantage.

🌍Did you know? Steel is responsible for 5% of the EU’s total emissions, making decarbonising this sector essential to driving Europe’s climate and competitiveness agendas forward. To tackle this challenge, stronger policies are needed to de-risk and support the transition of the European steel industry. Before joining TT, JC worked at BNP Paribas Asset Management for eight years as Head of EM Fixed Income.
