Having spent the night together, Jacob Gallagher [JOE-WARREN PLANT] and Victoria Barton [ISABEL HODGINS] are shocked when David Metcalfe [MATTHEW WOLFENDEN] arrives unannounced. After an awkward interaction, Victoria manages to get rid of David who’s left bemused at how things went down.

David, feeling angsty about a second date he’s accidentally agreed to, asks Jacob to make excuses on his behalf. But sensing Abby’s disappointment, Jacob offers to share a drink with her – a move that ignites jealousy in Victoria, who is watching on.

After Jacob later bids Abby farewell, the chemistry between him and Victoria becomes palpable and things culminate in a passionate kiss. But realising she’s got carried away, Victoria pulls away and makes a hasty exit.
David, though, still can’t get his mind off Victoria and is determined to mend fences. Little does he realise that, while he’s been getting his hopes up, Victoria and Jacob have spent the night together! And when David arrives unannounced, Victoria awkwardly manages to get rid of him before he twigs.
Later, Jacob is left relieved when he infers that David is moving on. But the situation is more complex than it initially appears and Leyla, for one, is growing suspicious of Jacob’s hidden relationship, and senses that this affair might not end well for anyone involved.

Gail Loman [RACHAEL GILL-DAVIS] (ITV)
News that he’s not a match for Oscar leaves Ryan devastated and in need of comfort from Marlon. But there’s big relief all round when a frantic Gail arrives on the scene to reveal that, against all the odds, she and Oscar are actually a match.
The following day, Gail is seen making preparations to catch up with Oscar ahead of the surgery, but Ryan can’t help but be apprehensive about meeting his son for the first time. And once at the hospital, an awkward Ryan starts to hang back, feeling like the odd one out as Gail and Oscar get on like a house on fire.
However, when the conversation turns to music, Ryan seizes the opportunity and finds a way in. But while watching on, Oscar’s adoptive mum Sophie is obviously feeling conflicted about the bond that’s forming. And later, once back at the Woolpack, Marlon is quick to remind Gail to act with caution around Sophie.
With the importance of what’s happening now dawning on them, Ryan supports Gail as she heads off to surgery, but both remain hopeful that they can now be a part of Oscar’s life.

Belle is left shocked when she learns that Tom’s mother has passed away. But he’s quick to put on a front when he discovers that Belle knows what’s happened.
For those whose memories of Emmerdale don’t stretch back that far, Tom’s mum was Colleen King, the ex-wife of Carl King. She was last seen on screen in 2010 when she emigrated to South Africa with Tom and his sister Anya in tow.
