Strictly Come Dancing and Mr Bates vs The Post Office were among the winners at the National Television Awards of 2024.

Mr Bates took home three major awards at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday (September 11), including an Impact Award for rallying the public in support of those victimised by the Post Office scandal.

The series additionally won Best New Drama, while star Toby Jones beat the likes of Michelle Keegan and Vicky McClure for the Drama Performance prize.

Emmerdale took back the soap crown from last year's winner EastEnders in the Serial Drama category, whereas Peter Ash's stirring exit storyline in Coronation Street won him the Serial Drama Performance Award.

Other memorable moments from the gala included Ant & Dec winning their 23rd-straight TV Presenter Award, while a tearful Davina McCall was surprised by mate Hannah Waddingham with this year's Special Recognition Award.
