Sarah Jessica Parker says 'Sex And The City' reboot will address pandemic (original) (raw)
Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that the eagerly anticipated Sex And The City reboot will address the coronavirus pandemic.
The actor and her co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are returning in a new series called And Just Like That, although Kim Cattrall will not be back.
Production doesn’t start until the spring but the buzz is already huge, and SJP spilled a few details during a chat with Vanity Fair.

She told the magazine that COVID-19 would “obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city (these characters) live in”.
“And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all,” she added.

The show is set to follow Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon) and Charlotte (Davis) as they navigate life in their 50s.
“I think that Cynthia, Kristin, and I are all excited about the time that has passed,” said Parker.
“You know, who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? Where have they fallen short as women, as friends, and how are they finding their way?”

Sex And The City ran from 1998 to 2004 and two spin-off movies followed in 2008 and 2010.
Plans for a third film were in the pipeline but Cattrall made it clear she was not interested in reprising her role of Samantha Jones on the big screen.
There had long been rumours of a rift between Cattrall and Parker, and the speculation was fuelled when Cattrall said in an interview that the cast had “never been friends”.
With a third film off the cards, fans had been desperate for a television reboot and their dreams came true earlier in January when Parker confirmed it was returning for a new chapter.
