Diarrhea in patient with HIV infection that contributes the negatively to quality of life. The etiology of diarrhea in patient with HIV infection is multifactorial include infectious, non-infectious, ART-association diarrhea. In addition, this diarrhea can be associated with empiric therapy. This article a 31 years old male patient with 3 days fatigue and diarrhea. Physical examination dry mucous membranes, abdominal pain especially in in the upper abdomen and increase small bowel peristalsis. Stool examination test doesn’t have blood, parasites, and fungi. Stool cultures for Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter organisms no presence. The treatment metronidazole oral 500 mg every 8 hours was again performed. Metronidazole is available for the management of diarrhea in patient with HIV that can’t be treated with other antibiotics.

Cirrhosis is the most common cause of ascites in the Western world (75%), followed by peritoneal malignancy (12%), heart failure (5%) (include peripartum cardiomyopathy), and peritoneal tuberculosis (2%). A 19-years-old woman diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy. She came with chest pain and increased of her abdominal perimeter since 6 month ago, a month after she got cesarean delivery. She was given high protein and low sodium diet, water restriction, treated with furosemide 40 mg, spironolactone 25 mg, and abdominal paracentesis with total 1500 cc of yellowish ascites fluid was evacuated. Early detection is required in this case to ensure effective management without any complications. Treatment depends upon the cause of the ascites. Dietary so...

It can carry many parasites, with diverse susceptibility patterns. Its number in the enviromenment determine the potential risk of health hazard to human. This cross-sectional, entomological survey-study aimed to determine its prevalence with emphasize on vectorial capability, public heath implication and comparison of several traditional baits/ attractants used to trapped cockroach. During 4 months of sampling, 434 cockroaches were successfully trapped, and the prevalence of intestinal parasite isolated was 77.9%,which comprise of several types of parasite. Cockroach also more attracted to brown sugar used as baits/attractants. These findings confirmed the importance of keeping hygiene/sanitation practices that must be maintain all the time.

We report a case of 60-year-old man with hepatic cirrhosis and pancytopenia. He came to emergency room with chronic fatigue, light headed, and abdominal pain. In laboratory examination, hemoglobin 6.0 g/dL, red blood cell counts 2.8×106/mm3, platelets 58.000×103/mm3, leukocytes 3.800×103/mm3, and reactive HbsAg. Abdominal ultrasound revealed small liver with irregular edges, ascitic fluid, and enlarged spleen. The patient was treated with furosemide, spironolactone, lactulose and propranolol. The liver, or the hepatocyte constitutes a significant storage site for iron, produce erythropoietin and thrombopoietin. Hypersplenism causes retention of a large number of leukocytes, erythrocytes, and platelets in the spleen, and the number of retained blood cells can be 5.5-20 times higher than the normal level, thus f...
