These discussions heavily focus on their position in Islamic society, their interpretation within feminism, and larger discussions regarding donning Hijab and Islamophobia. Primarily, the adaptation of Hijab as a garment most of the time refers from religious to social pressure and relates to political ideologies. This thesis explores the stories and facts beyond those narratives finding there are identities which are entirely personal when it comes to donning the hijab. This analysis base on the theories ‘Orientalism’, ‘Male gaze’ and books such as Mohanty’s Under Western Eyes, Islam vs Islamism by Peter R Demant, The Headscarf Controversies by Hilal Elver, Beyond the Veil by Fatema Mernissi, etc and the primary discussion with five students from different Muslim countries living in the UK. Through those discussions, tradition and ethnicity appear as having a significant influence on religious practices. However, factors such as one’s cultural context or geographical location were also discussed as relevant to their decision. This article explores the fact the donning of Hijab or covering oneself should be a woman's personal choice and right and lately, how it becomes a communicative gesture in a public space. Through comparative studies on the adaptation of Hijab in different Islamic countries it explains Muslim woman’s subjectivity towards hijab is not away from political connotations.

Rana Plaza disaster still shocks the RMG (Ready Made Garments) sector in Bangladesh, as well as the fashion industries around the globe. 1,134 workers died, and more than 2,500 got injured and traumatized by that catastrophe; undoubtedly this tragedy is considered to be the "deadliest unintended structural failure of the modern times." But what steals the show are the kitesfloating in the sky, wrestling with the winds and with each other, making rustling sounds. Sohrab is standing still -as a part of 'the background' looking up at the sky. His long-lived silence reflects his past without even uttering it. Amir Jan walks over to him with a kite and spool. Amir Jan is trying to build up a connection with Sohrab -the way Rustom tried to console his soul after his victory -telling stories of his father Hassan. With string in hand, Amir Jan confidently says he will teach the green kite a lesson, Sohrab says nothing. Amir hands the spool to Sohrab, and performs Hassan's 'old lift-and-dive' trick, cutting down the green kite. And when Amir asks if Sohrab wants him to run the green kite for him, he thinks he sees Sohrab nod. "For you, a thousand times over." Amir can't believe his own ears that he has just said that to Sohrab, like his father Hassan did to him a long long time back, and so he runs -"A grown man running with a swarm of screaming children. But I didn't care. I ran with the wind blowing in my face, and a smile as wide as the Valley of Panjsher on my lips. I ran."

Broad and easy access to mobile devices and social media has created immense opportunities for the public to share and publish their works on open forums. The audience as the prosumer (producers and active consumers) generates 'user-generated content' that undoubtedly influences the mainstream media's content production procedure and manner through distributing them to many news or social platforms. This process leads to citizen journalism as a parallel mode of journalism where collection, collaboration and dissemination of the information go through a single channel. This study is based on both primary and secondary data sources to understand the impacts, challenges, and opportunities of citizen journalism needed beside the journalism. The qualitative data are collected from seven in-depth interviews with senior journalists, editors, academics and news managers. And two semi-structured interviews were conducted with citizen journalism project coordinators. Their analysis regarding this citizen journalism practices in mainstream media creates access to information by opening a new door to more significant resources. However, the concern remains whether incorporating citizen journalism into mainstream journalism poses any threat or not. It is observed that the absence of practicing journalistic rules and regulations in social media makes their credibility questionable and generates confusion. Online news sites use mobile technologies to create and disseminate their media products, gradually attracting the audience and readers. As a result, people are often used to accessing news from online sites rather than print media. With this current demand, mainstream news media is focusing on more interactivity on their online platforms and encouraging their audiences to join in the news production process.

A mobile phone would suffice to get photos, clips, or texts that are readily uploaded to Facebook and other social media. Owing to the round-the-clock access to the Internet, a person can turn into an independent broadcaster. Even when mainstream media outlets, due to the editorial policy and other limitations, tried to leave some incidences uncovered, they had to yield in the end. Following the storytelling format, Facebook users kept circulating, discussing or evidencing those happenings, and newspapers obliged to carry them with special treatment and red headlines, giving a jolt to the people behind those incidents.
In the past few years, it is observed that social media was the first to respond to some issues that became the talk of the town. Recognizing immediately, those were printed by the traditional press media and even became the lead story. Because of broad and easy access to mobile devices and social media, creating and publishing content has been opened up to the public. The power of the audience as producers is reflected in the term «user-generated content». The audience as the prosumer (producers and active consumers) of news across many platforms undoubtedly influences the mainstream media’s content production process.
This article sheds light on how these developments influence the mainstream media of Bangladesh and what thoughts experts are lending to this issue. It also highlights when the influence of citizen journalism is posing a threat to mainstream journalism’s gatekeeper role, why objectivity and morality are not fully abided by in mainstream journalism, and what is required to enhance the human resources in the neo-media. To find the answers to these questions, it is necessary to discuss the changing role of the audience after the arrival of social media and smartphones and the nature of citizen journalism contents in Bangladesh. This study is based on both primary and secondary sources of data to understand the implications, challenges and opportunities of citizen journalism. The Qualitative data were collected from in- depth interviews from senior journalists, editors, news managers and project coordinators. Together the result revealed that the use of citizen journalism content by mainstream journalism is only increasing. With this positive growth, one constant challenge is how to control the spreading of rumors and fake news on this massive platform.
