The concept is to create a complex management for the formwork based on augmented reality. By taking into account the development rate of the information, augmented reality is tending to be one of the widest (in term of domain) visualization instrument. Also used in the construction domain, augmented reality can be applied also for the case of formwork design and management. The application of the solution will be retrieved in the construction of the product, its transportation and deposit. The usage of this concept will help reduce, even eliminate human or technical errors and can offer a precise state of a specific required formwork from the stock.

These deviations appear most of the cases from a most common disease nowadays, ghonartrosys characterised by usage of the knee’s articular cartilage. The surgical strategy is HIGH TIBIAL OSTEOTOMY and it is very appropriate in order to correct the axial deviation due several reasons such as: repair with good results the axial deviations, good rate price/quality, strongly recommended method for young patients, not needed a maintenance activity as in case of the prosthesis. In the article it starts with the presentation of the mechanical axis of the lower limb and of the axial deviations that might appear and then using the CAD type modeling tools it is simulated and modelled the surgical procedure: Closing High tibial osteotomy. The approach is very important both from didactically consideration and possible evaluations presurgical, intrasurgical and postsurgical.

The main disadvantage of the parts made by 3D Printing technologies is that they are less resistant from a mechanical point of view. This can be solved by the development of 3D printers capable of printing composite parts consisting of a plastic matrix reinforced with continuous fibers. This research focuses on studying 4 types of 3D-printed Continuous-Fiber-Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) from the point of view of their mechanical properties: Onyx-rigid nylon in which micro carbon fibers are inserted and Onyx reinforced with carbon, glass or Kevlar fiber. Standardized specimens were made for the uniaxial tensile test and the experimental program was designed evaluating: the Elastic modulus [GPa], the Maximum Tensile stress [MPa], the Tensile strain at maximum Tensile stress [mm/mm]. The principal strains were also determined, using the digital image technique made using the Aramis system from GOM. The experimental tests confirm that these new materials will be serious candidates to be used in engineering applications in various fields.

We used a model of a 46 molar to be cured with photopolymerisable composite materials, metallic or ceramic inlays. The scanned model of a 46 real tooth is processed in CATIA software. It is generated a model of class I preparation and filling shape. In order to obtain a reliable restoration with minimum tooth sacrificed substance the minimum burr diameter to be used for the shape and bottom of the preparation was determined. A 400 N constriction force was considered as a maximum clenching force in mastication. A finite element analyze is made in Ansys software. Shapes of tensions, deformations and safety factor of the modelled tooth are presented, pointing the dangerous areas and sections. The results show an increasing of the safety factor when the section of the shape becomes greater than the proposed value for minimum preparation for a specific bi...

To avoid and reduce harmful radiation techniques in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis investigation and follow-ups, a novel non-invasive approach is highly recommended and needed in clinical practice. In this paper ARScoliosis application to diagnose, visualize and document spinal condition and particularly adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in real time is presented. This ARScoliosis application is developed in Unity 3D, a game engine, and allows non-invasive quantification of posture and spinal deformity using recently available non-ionizing wide-angle depth sensor Microsoft Azure Kinect DK as a diagnostic medium. Parametric and scalable 3D model of the spine is registered to the internal spinal alignment extracted from the anatomical landmarks and joints in real time and visible over the specific patient. It is envisioned that ARScoliosis will support monitoring of scoliosis after applied th...

This tool generates intrinsic and extrinsic indicators of the spinal deformity and 3D CAD (Computer-aided Design) deformity model based only on a digitalized dorsal surface of the examined patient. Our primary focus in this paper are absolute axial rotations (AAR) of each vertebra in AIS patients and their correlations. Clinical relevance of this research is high, as we intend to avoid traditional methods which rely on highly complicated reading and measuring of AARs on planar x-ray films, as these methods involve ionizing radiation and require highly experienced observers. Here we demonstrated a good correlation of AARs in 372 patients optically diagnosed, and currently we perform final verification of presented method and generic CAD model of the spine against 200 low-dose EOS scans of AIS patients.

This research aims to categorize the main components and interactions within a new manufacturing system which are required to accommodate a CPPS. The proposed CPPS demonstrator also includes the preliminary requirements identified from the discussions with the regional industry, so that the prototype of the production system could be easily understood and also be the basis for further collaborations. The identified requirements were structured according to the top-down principle focusing on accomplishing the major objectives to be achieved through the prototype of the production system but also on the detailed concepts of the product and the production stations, thus preparing the choice for a concrete technical solution.

The axial deviations of the human inferior limb are presented in the first part of the paper. Without altering the shape of the bones, these deviations cause the wear of the knee's articular cartilage by gonarthrosis. One of the most common and effective treatment modalities for eliminating axial deviations is High Tibial Osteotomy. Because the surgical procedure involves 3D spatial bone cutting, the accuracy of the procedure and thus the success of the operation and the recovery of the patient is dependent on the execution of these cuts. Within this paper, a specialized device is proposed that makes it possible to guide the surgical saw and to accurately perform the correction angles. In the last part of the paper, customization possibilities and fabrication of the main elements of the cutting device using Additive Manufacturing processes are presented.

The current challenge being the transition of this manufacturing technology from prototype oriented towards mass production. In order to achieve this, fabrication times and mechanical parameters must be improved. This paper aims to identify which are the parameters that have the highest influence on parts obtained with fused deposition modeling (FDM) technology from ABS material. In addition, this study identifies which are the most accurate methods to test the mechanical properties of FDM parts while still respecting ASTM standard for testing the tensile properties of plastics. It was found that ASTM D638-02a type I samples are the most suitable to perform tests on high anisotropic plastic materials. The experiment also demonstrates that the build orientation and the wall thickness of FDM fabricated parts has the highest influence on the mechanical properties.
