Stevie Nicks News (original) (raw)
Stephanie Nicks was born in Phoenix but raised in San Francisco. After a short stint in a band called Fritz, she hooked up with singer and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. They recorded one album together, 1973's 'Buckingham-Nicks,' before they joined British blues band Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and gave them a complete makeover that turned them into one of the biggest bands in the world. For more than a decade, Nicks juggled a solo career (including the No. 1 album 'Bella Donna' in 1981) with her group duties, but by 1990 she quit touring with Fleetwood Mac and had left the band for good in 1993. Four years later, she reunited with them for tours and albums, while still maintaining a solo career.
