According to most academics, different generations share common characteristics. This undoubtedly... more According to most academics, different generations share common characteristics. This undoubtedly helps to better understand their behavior in different scenarios, predicting their responses. However, this seems questionable and that is the main purpose of this study. This research, although preliminary, try to confirm if millennials have common characteristics, or if, on the contrary, there are differences between them due to the culture in which they are immersed. To this end, it has been contextualized in a sector that is very sensitive to cultural differences, such as tourism. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire administered in 2019 via e-mail to young South Korean and Spanish millennials (born 1982–2002). The results suggest that there do not appear to be common personality traits between the countries analyzed. While there's growing interest in gender and employment issues in tourism studies, a gap exists w... more While there's growing interest in gender and employment issues in tourism studies, a gap exists when examining the obstacles women face in career pursuits, especially in theocratic societies. Drawing on Risman's gender structure theory, this qualitative study investigates how Iranian women perceive the impact of gender power dynamics on their careers and those of their peers. The findings reveal inhibitory factors affecting women's quest for equal career opportunities, including deeply ingrained societal influences on gender roles, institutionalized gender discrimination, and self-imposed constraints. The findings also demonstrate how gender stereotypes and theocratic structures manifest in the Iranian tourism industry, and how Iranian women working in the tourism sector actively negotiate, resist, and challenge these stereotypes to advance their careers. In a field where most gender-related studies originate from Western perspectives, this study holds particular significance in amplifying the voices of those in non-Western, theocratic societies.

Se realiza un estudio sobre la supervivencia hotelera en un destino maduro litoral como es el cas... more Se realiza un estudio sobre la supervivencia hotelera en un destino maduro litoral como es el caso de Torremolinos. En los estudios de supervivencia hotelera la utilización de variables geográficas y de tipología de destinos son una aportación novedosa. Para este estudio se han identificado todos los hoteles abiertos en el siglo XX y XXI en Torremolinos, y se han localizado espacialmente mediante el programa ArcGIS Desktop. A través del SPSS v.25 se ha calculado la supervivencia de los hoteles, para ello se ha aplicado el estimador de Kaplan-Meier y la prueba de Log Rank. Se han utilizado siete variables para estimar el comportamiento de los hoteles: antigüedad, categoría, densidad, capacidad de alojamiento, distancia a la playa, popularidad del hotel y precio de la habitación. Nowadays, tourists are looking for unique and special experiences, which has led tourist destinations to seek new attractions to offer. Rooftops are becoming privileged places and provide a differential experience, leading to an increase in the offer of tourist services on hotel rooftops. This study explored the change of use in hotel rooftops in historic city centres for the commercialization of tourism. In this sense, this research sheds light on the factors that influence the commodification of rooftops and the attributes that are most valued by users in Google Maps and TripAdvisor reviews of their experiences. This study aims to reflect the strong dynamism of the audiovisual world and film tourism. For thi... more This study aims to reflect the strong dynamism of the audiovisual world and film tourism. For this purpose, a comparative analysis is carried out between 2014 and 2020, the latter date being affected by the pandemic caused by Covid-19. This study is based on 888 surveys between the mentioned two years, distributed mainly among respondents from Europe and the United States. The results of the research indicate that there are no changes concerning the knowledge of the film tourism term, but differences are observed in the study period regarding the activities linked to this type of tourism, as well as to motivations and travel intentions driven by films or series. Lastly, changes in the popularity or knowledge of film destinations were observed during the study period. The findings of this research are particularly useful for destination managers.

Por lo tanto, fueran utilizados los métodos: revisión de la literatura, análisis documental, realización de entrevistas en profundidad y semiestructuradas con agentes del turismo del destino, y análisis de contenido. Para tratamiento de los datos fue utilizado el software atlas TI 8, lo que posibilitó un análisis más detallado en la comprensión del objeto de estudio de la investigación, por medio de las redes y mapas conceptuales en el cruce de informaciones. los resultados reflejan que las relaciones público-privadas fundamentadas en la confianza, la toma conjunta de decisiones, las estructuras informales, el consenso estratégico, y el uso de las TIc, parecen tener un impacto positivo en el nivel de desarrollo e innovación en el destino turístico inteligente. This research aims to analyze the process of governance of tourism based on innovation and the use of IcT as a factor in the development of an smart tourism destination and its relationship with public-private networks. The empirical analysis refers to the case study of the city of florianopolis, Santa catarina, Brazil. Therefore, the methods used were: literature review, documentary analysis, in-depth and semi-structured interviews with destination tourism agents, and content analysis. for the processing of the data, atlas TI 8 software was used, which made possible a deeper analysis in the understanding of the research object of study, through the networks and conceptual maps in the cross-checking of information. This wine destination offers to tourists a rich wine culture and recreation. Also, as a special supplement to wine tourism, ecotourism is especially promoted, in combination with quality wines with geographical origin. The basic analysis of this study is to identify potential locations for ecotourism activities in the wine region of Central Serbia based on physical-geographical elements (topography, altitude, slope, land use / coverage, diversity, distance from rivers) and socio-economic data (proximity to tourist attractions, distance from major roads and places). The integration of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) greatly facilitates the decision-making process in the assessment of ecotourism activities. Esta zona agricola se ha convertido en un espacio turistico y en parte del Area Metropolitana de Malaga. Esta complejidad espacial se intenta descubrir por medio de su trama territorial. Los elementos principales de esta trama estan constituidos por los espacios agricolas, turisticos y vivienda metropolitana, que estan en pleno conflicto.

Abstract Satisfaction and perceptions of the residents towards local management were analysed at ... more Abstract Satisfaction and perceptions of the residents towards local management were analysed at a World Heritage site such as the region of Petra, Jordan. Contributing to the context of host-guest interaction at World Heritage sites, we investigated the satisfaction towards local management. Using the Social Exchange Theory and partial least squares-structural equation modelling, a model was built and data from 467 surveyed residents were analysed. The model that we developed in this study represents the relationships between several factors related to the region's characteristics, including involvement in tourism development, participation in local organisation, and resident contact with tourists and community attachment. It was found that these factors play a critical role in the residents' perceptions of the economic, environment and socio-cultural impact of tourism development. Our findings suggest that perceptions strongly affect the satisfaction with local management. Furthermore, this study addresses several practical implications and future studies.

En esta comunicacion se estudia, en primer lugar, el concepto de capacidad de carga capacidad de carga como herramienta de gestion y como herramienta de gestion y planifi cacion que ayuda a la busqueda de los umbrales territoriales en los espacios turisticos. A continuacion, se selecciona una serie de indicadores economico-territoriales con el fi n de analizar el sistema turistico y los posibles umbrales; estos indicadores se experimentan en una zona piloto, concretamente en la Costa del Sol Oriental-Axarquia. En la tercera parte, se analizan las relaciones entre los distintos indicadores economicos, que permitiran disenar en fases posteriores unos umbrales de crecimiento/comportamiento.

Este estudio trata de contrastar las caracteristicas del sector y del espacio turistico durante el periodo de crisis economica con las posibles consecuencias en el crecimiento urbanistico y demografico. Para ello, se analizan algunos indicadores turisticos y socioeconomicos relevantes. Como conclusiones hay que destacar que la oferta de alojamiento se ha mantenido o crecido en los anos de crisis, asi como los ingresos hoteleros, mientras que se ha visto mas afectado el empleo, el flujo migratorio se ha frenado, asi como la creacion de viviendas.

The role of residents in tourist destinations has not been analyzed regularly during the development process of destinations. We study two cases of historic centers in European cities, with the aim of comparing tourism problems, which are common to most European urban destinations. This study was conducted by administering surveys amongst residents of these historic centers (378 in Málaga, Spain, and 380 in Gdansk, Poland). These cities show a similar demographic size and urban characteristics. The role of residents in tourist destinations has not been analyzed regularly during the development process of destinations. We study two cases of historic centers in European cities, with the aim of comparing tourism problems, which are common to most European urban destinations. This study was conducted by administering surveys amongst residents of these historic centers (378 in Málaga, Spain, and 380 in Gdansk, Poland). These cities show a similar demographic size and urban characteristics. El analisis empirico se refiere al estudio de caso de la ciudad de Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brasil. Por lo tanto, fueran utilizados los metodos: revision de la literatura, analisis documental, realizacion de entrevistas en profundidad y semiestructuradas con agentes del turismo del destino, y analisis de contenido. Para tratamiento de los datos fue utilizado el software Atlas TI 8, lo que posibilito un analisis mas detallado en la comprension del objeto de estudio de la investigacion, por medio de las redes y mapas conceptuales en el cruce de informaciones.
