NaNoWriMo [01 Nov 2011|12:25pm]
Is it cheating on NaNoWriMo if I've got 22 pages of outline done, but they aren't particularly cohesive pages?

Ouch [07 May 2009|10:25am]
I think I broke my brain on question 9 of my final last night. Paraphrased:The odds of supporting a new law for Protestants compared to Jews is 0.8; The odds for Catholics compared to Jews is 1.8; What are the odds for Catholics compared to Protestants. Further, given a logit model with X=1 for Protestants and 0 for Catholics/Jews; and Y=1 for Catholics and 0 for Protestants/Jews, find betas for X & Y.That was the last question I did, worked on it until the professor was all "Okay people, the next class wants to come in and take their test. You need to give me your papers now." and it spawned a headache...went to bed with headache...woke up with headache...went to work with headache...

This morning I went and hung out with 1.8 million of my BFFs. It was awesome. I wouldn't trade my numb toes, sore throat (from screaming, why clap if you're wearing mittens?) or anything else for it.It took about 45 minutes total to get there, and about 5 hours to get home. Rock on metro. Rock on.

**( Bus Adventure!Collapse )**The black line shows the route my bus normally takes in the morning. The blue line shows the route my crazy ass bus driver took this morning. First, he just pulled away from the first stop without stopping, so two of us had to chase him down. He claimed to be the 8:32, but it was 8:45; and the 8:45 bus had left earlier (because the 8:32 was so late, we predicted that the dispatcher gave the 8:45 permission to leave early, since it was going to be backlogged). Then at one point he just pulled over at a gas station and went into the mini mart (we'd caught up with the 8:45, so we figured we were sitting, so there was no bus-bunch... sill, most people opted for the first bus, so there were only 6 of us on the crazy train bus). Why he took an entirely different bridge, no one could figure out. What the map doesn't show is all the times he though he could make a turn, but seeing as he was driving a bus and not a smart car, he had to back up, go forward, back up, inch forward... Then at the first stop inside the city, he got off again and went walking toward a federal building... and we all hopped off and decided to walk to work.
