The University of Mount Olive is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate, baccalaureate, and masters degrees. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges is the institutional accrediting body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
Founded in 1988, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) is a global business education accrediting body with an accreditation process based on the Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence. By evaluating aspects of leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder relationships, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support, ACBSP assesses whether or not business programs offer a rigorous educational experience and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The Tillman School of Business is proud to have earned specialized accreditation for the following programs by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP):
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in in Healthcare Management
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management
- Master of Business Administration
- Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management
The following programs are currently under consideration for accreditation by ACBSP (programs submitted with Quality Assurance Report):
- The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance
- The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing
The following programs are new and do not yet have graduates, but the plan is to request accredited status in two years:
- The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
- The Bachelor of Science in Aviation and Business Management
The following program is not accredited by ACBSP:
- The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Applied Computer Science
ACBSP is dedicated to improving the quality of business schools and programs around the world, and ultimately to improving the practice of business in every industry around the world. ACBSP offers programs, services, and an accreditation process uniquely focused on teaching excellence and student learning outcomes. Accredited schools are required to go through scheduled rigorous peer review in order to maintain their accreditation.
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) follows the Baldrige model. The accreditation process focuses on the following:
(1) Recognizing teaching excellence;
(2) Determining student learning outcomes; and,
(3) Maintaining a continuous improvement model.
ACBSP’s student-centered teaching and learning approach, which is measured and analyzed for quality, ensures that students gain the right skills from their educational investment. Institutions with programs accredited by ACBSP are committed to continuous improvement that ensures their business programs will give students the skills employers want.
