Someone who smokes for more than 10 years has the greatest risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). The average number of cigarettes smoked by East Java residents who smoke every day of the week in 2021 is 77.54 cigarettes. Nganjuk Regency is also the largest producer of cigarettes in East Java, so there is a possibility that there will be more cigarette users in East Java. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of the dangers of smoking in adolescents. This research uses a type of quantitative descriptive research. Sampling using random sampling with a sample of 75 respondents. Based on the survey results on 75 respondents, it was found that 18 respondents (24%) had less knowledge, while 46 respondents (61.3%) had sufficient knowledge, and 11 respondents (14.7%) had good knowledge. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the level of knowledge of the dangers of smoking in adolescents at SMKN 1 Tanjunganom was in the sufficient category, with 46 respondents (61.3%). It is hoped that the school will provide an understanding of the dangers of smoking in the form of smoking-related health education and can be included in subjects in the form of student worksheets so that students' knowledge will increase more about the effects that smoking can cause both those related to themselves and the surrounding environment..

The causes of ulcers is trauma, which can be physical, mechanical, thermal or chemical trauma. One of traditional treatments for traumatic ulcers is basil (Ocimum sanctum L.) leaves which contain such as alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, and tannins as anti-inflammatory. This research was aimed to prove the effect of basil leaves (Ocimum sanctum L.) extract gel with a concentration of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% to traumatic ulcer area in Rattus norvegicus. Method: Laboratory experimental study with a post test only control group design. The basil leaves extract made into a gel concentration of 0.5%, 1, and 1.5%, and the control group using a CMC-Na gel, applied to Rattus norvegicus which had been made before by a traumatic ulcer. Traumatic ulcer area measurements using digital calipers on ...

Herpes simplex virus is latent. It can reactivate due to reactivation of the virus induced by emotional stress, high fever, ultraviolet exposed, oral mucosal or nerve tissue trauma, immunosuppression condition, and hormonal disorders. Purpose: The study aimed to report the management of patients with herpes labialis on the lower lip triggered by emotional stress. Case: A 58 year-old woman complained of pain in her lower lip. The patient had suffered from the pain since one month ago. The patient had been treated with a lip ointment, triamcinolone acetonid 0.1% (KenalogĀ®), for 2 weeks, but became thick, dry, and worse. She said that she got many calamities related to her family, leading to the increased busyness and psychologically distressed conditions. Extra oral examination of the lower lip showed erythematous erosion sized 4x4 mm, yellowish red crusting sized 3x4 mm, and translucent multiple vesicles sized 1x1 mm with well circumscribed as well as irregular edges. On palpation submandibular lymph nodes, dextra and sinistra were palpable, rubbery, mobile and painless. Based on intra-oral examination, however, there were no abnormalities. Case management: The diagnosis was determined based on anamnesis, clinical examinations, and supporting examination of Ig M and anti HSV-1 Ig G. The patient then was prescribed systemic and topical Acyclovir. Conclusion: Some laboratory tests are necessary to confirm the diagnosis and determine the accurate therapy of herpes labialis in addition to the history and clinical features.
