order for almost two centuries. Resistance methods were varied and allow them to remain independent and
free during the first centuries of the Colony. In this city it begins idolatry toward the figure of a horse that
Hernán Cortés left during his visit to Tayasal in 1525, a problem that the Spaniards will try to eradicate
through evangelization. The figure of the horse was important in the construction of as peech to justify the
Spanish conquest, spiritual and military.
