This makes it possible to not only monitor crops but also to detect pests, a lack of irrigation, or other problems. For systems that require high accuracy in crop identification, a large amount of data is required to generate reliable models. The more plots of and data on crop evolution used over time, the more reliable the models. Here, a study has been carried out to analyse neural network models trained with the Sentinel satellite’s 12 bands, compared to models that only use the NDVI, in order to choose the most suitable model in terms of the amount of storage, calculation time, accuracy,
and precision. This study achieved a training time gain of 59.35% for NDVI models compared with 12-band models; however, models based on 12-band values are 1.96% more accurate than those trained with the NDVI alone when it comes to making predictions. The findings of this study could be of great interest to administrations, businesses, land managers, and researchers who use satellite image data mining techniques and wish to design an efficient system, particularly one with limited storage capacity and response times.

With the initiative of Semantic Web, the aim is to make the content of Web pages available in a way that allows people and computers to "understand" this information following frameworks commonly agreed upon by means of ontologies. However, users currently looking for ontologies in order to incorporate them into their systems, just use their experience and intuition. To improve the selection of ontologies, this chapter describes the ONTOMETRIC method which allows the users to measure the suitability of existing ontologies, regarding the requirements of their necessities.

Those that choose to offer the highest quality data reuse usually have a SPARQL access point so that applications that use them can make queries directly. Instead, citizens do not have that option because they generally do not know the SPARQL language. This article proposes a model to generate SPARQL queries against a opendata server from intuitively selectable options from a Web form, providing usefulness to the open data portals.

To optimize resources, they should prioritize the publication and maintenance of datasets most likely to generate social and economic impact. However, there is currently a lack of decision-support tools to help public sector data publishers to evaluate datasets on the light of their particular reuse goals. In this paper, we propose to suggest to data publishers the dataset categories with most potential impact, based on the impact of already published datasets of the same category. To measure impact, we propose a set of indicators based on the amount and quality of Open Source Software projects that use datasets. To aggregate indicators according to specific reuse goals, we provide an Analytic-Hierarchy-Process based tool.

To solve the above problems, we present: (1) a living set of features that allow us to characterize ontologies from the user point of view and have the same logical organization; (2) a living domain ontology about ontologies (called Reference Ontology) that gathers, describes and has links to existing ontologies; and (3) (ONTO) 2 Agent, the ontology-based www broker about ontologies that uses the Reference Ontology as a source of its knowledge and retrieves descriptions of ontologies that satisfy a given set of constraints. Users currently looking for ontologies in order to incorporate them into their systems, just use their experience and intuition. This makes it difficult for them to justify their choices. Mainly, this is due to the lack of methods that help the user to determine which are the most appropriate ontologies for the new system. To solve this deficiency, the present work proposes a method, ONTOMETRIC, which allows the users to measure the suitability of existing ontologies, regarding the requirements of their systems.

While a large number of analysis techniques that extract knowledge automatically from video content exists, their produced raw data are typically not of interest to the end user. In this paper, we review our analysis efforts as defined within the LinkedTV project and present the recent advances in core technologies for automatic speech recognition and object-redetection. Furthermore, we introduce our approach for an automatically generated localized person identification database. Finally, the processing of the raw data into a linked resource available in a web compliant format is described.

However, when trying to use similar data from different portals, they found the problem of lack of homogenization. This article collects techniques to analyze the terms that appear in the description of the datasets and represent their content semantically. With these techniques, a model is proposed to identify the most suitable terms, with the aim that they can be used in datasets' selection or unification processes.
