90% friends only. 95% EXO. I don't write here much anymore, only to lurk in communities and write the occasional fic. If you want to get to know me better, you can talk to me on tumblr, ask.fm, or twitter, as that's where I spend most of my time now!

It’s kind of hard to believe that here we are now, celebrating EXO’s second anniversary. So much has happened in EXO’s second year that it seems like a blur; I can’t believe I’ve been a fan of EXO for two years now. When I think about how much EXO has achieved and gone through together in the past year, I’m filled with pride. But at the same time, it’s humbling. So incredibly humbling. On April 8th, 2013, on their first anniversary, EXO still only had one mini album, a mere six songs, to their name: MAMA. Three hundred and sixty five days ago, I was still wondering if we were ever going to get a comeback – the dreaded C word that eventually became taboo in this fandom, along with the S word “soon.” It’s still hard to forget the near mortification I felt when EXO attended the annual Dream Concert in 2013 and performed the same song, “MAMA,” that they performed when they attended the 2012 Dream Concert. I remember clearly thinking, as the 2013 Dream Concert drew nearer and nearer, that surely SM would plan a surprise comeback before then… But no. EXO was a nugu group who performed their debut title song at the same event one full year later, while other groups that had debuted the same year as EXO were performing their newer songs, able to boast a much longer discograph. It was a little embarrassing at the time. And if it was embarrassing to me, EXO themselves probably felt even worse. The level of anxiety, restlessness, and impatience in the fandom was growing by the day. Some fans even left; and I sometimes caught myself wondering what I was sticking around for, when there were plenty of other k-pop groups releasing new stuff and doing things.
( But it's April 2014 now...Collapse )

My friends and I arrived at the venue at around noon, but there was no line for the 7:00PM concert to be seen. I heard that some fans started lining up for the concert since four in the morning but, nope, apparently that wasn’t early enough for other fans because there were some who lined up at the gates since midnight…! Too bad for those fans that around noon, the kcon staff came to break up the line anyway and told everybody that the VIP1 ticket holders were not allowed to line up for the concert until 4PM. Fans just started congregating around the stadium entrance, milling around waiting for 4PM to roll around so that they could run to get a good spot in line, but the kcon staff kept breaking the groups up every so often and pushing everybody back, away from the doors. They were trying to get people to actually go to the convention and enjoy the events and panels but everybody just wanted to get a good spot in the pit for the concert lol.
( At 2PM, it was EXO's fansign...Collapse )
As an EXO fan, there will always be certain dates from EXO's first year that especially stick out in my mind.
