I have used the original photos of over 1200 coins and additionally many hand drawings. Since the... more I have used the original photos of over 1200 coins and additionally many hand drawings. Since the Bhutanese coins of this period have countless variations my own collection can only cover a small area.
I will introduce you to the land of Bhutan and its coins and explain how difficult it is to determine a good ordering system. A classification according to temporal periods was first proposed by Nicholas Rhodes. For my 'Overview', however , I have chosen to organize the countless die variants into groups and subgroups. I, therefore, present a new and complementary system for ordering the coins in this book.
