Despite this growth in mobile devices usage, there’s still a deficit in Social Communication studies to address it. Mainly, to discuss the meaning and nature of being a teenager in contemporary times (Veloso, 2018). Based on this gap, this article aims at promoting a theoretical discussion in two aspects: the very concept of adolescence and the issues concerning mobile connection in the digital culture.

Hereby, this paper aims at examining how add-on features in ephemeral content platforms such as Instagram impact notions and uses of contemporary images. In order to approach this interrogation, the article is divided into two parts: first, it provides a theoretical discussion and possible definition of digital-networked images (Kasra, 2017a) from a visual communication perspective (Worth and Gross, 1974; Gross, 1980; Lester, 1995; Mitchell, 1986; 2005) and social media visualities (Serafinelli and Villi, 2017; Karsa, 2017a, 2017b; Manovich, 2017; Highfield and Leaver, 2016); elaborated on the previous ideas, a second part brings on an empirical qualitative descriptive analysis of Instagram Stories features with the use of netnography (Kozinets, 2015). As a result, it is understood that digital-networked images need to be analyzed and defined within their context; the studied platform presents changes in structural aspects of contemporary visual content production and affordances; and the technical characteristics found are directly interrelated to sociocultural aspects. Despite ephemerality becoming ubiquitous in online digital image sharing, further research is still needed from Communication Science scholars to fully understand its relationship with other visual communication practices online.

In addition to that, it is also a constantly and rapidly changing topic due to new inventions and their appropriation by users. In Understanding Digital Culture, author Vincent Miller explores, explains, and analyzes aspects related to digital culture from both descriptive and critical perspectives. The author opens the book by providing a review of previous technologies, more specifically television in the second half of the 20th century and discusses it as a "revolutionary technology" with the contributions of Raymond Williams (1975/1990). In this review, I will start by presenting an overview of Miller's work, the author's main ideas, the structure of the book, and a discussion of its strengths, weaknesses, and contributions to digital culture research.

Hence, this paper analyses how Afghanistan is presented by collective photographers on @everydayafg, based on three aspects: what/who is visually depicted, what actions/issues are discussed, and what associations are made in the posts. Applying netnography and content analysis, we systematically sampled and coded the first monthly photo since the account creation (2014/2021, N = 76). Results demonstrate that @everydayafg deviates from representations of violence in at least three ways: 1) depicting Afghanistan with human agents; 2) covering more favourable and uplifting topics, as for tourist destinations; and 3) associating the country with a "place of living" and with its "cultural richness". However, some narratives still raise significant issues, such as human rights and labour conditions in the region. Hence, Instagram is used to challenge prevalent perspectives in the media while generating awareness of relevant local problems.

The study applies a mixed method approach, with qualitative and quantitative techniques that combine six focus group interviews and an online survey with young people aged 18 to 26 (N = 156). Our findings indicate that Generation Z favors workplace values over salaries and expects personalized job descriptions and a deep understanding of company culture, usually acquired with peers or at job fairs. However, different subgroups within Generation Z have varying job preferences and motivations. Finally, these findings offer insights into employer branding strategies that can contribute to companies in Hungary to attract and retain younger workers.

Por lo tanto, this study explores opportunities for professional fencers to develop strategies for self-presentation and communication on the platform. The methodological approach is based on netnography and content analysis, evaluating the accounts of the 10 best shooters (FIE). The findings signal how these athletes build their brand to increase engagement and fan interaction by sharing training videos, competition photos and personal stories, while collaborating with sponsors and brands to open commercial opportunities and income sources.

With social media, these activists can reach the audience directly, disseminate information, and dispute narratives. Hence, this study addresses the question: how are the discourses about feminism constructed on Instagram in Colombia? Based on netnography and critical discourse analysis, the paper analyzes the discussions on publications and comments on the most popular feminist Instagram account in Colombia, @ LasIgualadas. The results indicate that the platform usage could help create a less stereotypical perspective on the movement while informing society on its agendas and raising awareness about rights violations. However, the debate on @LasIgualadas is still predominantly carried out by women (80.5%), and some topics, such as abortion and LGBTQI+ rights, are distorted or deviated from by some Instagram users' comments.

information, talk with friends, consume online content, and share images on social media. How do teenagers appropriate these platforms to express the world around themselves and to build on their identities through mobile applications? With the objective to contribute to the knowledge about this phenomenon from Communication perspectives, this article discusses the use of apps among adolescents in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as a channel for visibility from the context of digital culture. It begins with an understanding of the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), highlighting the advent of smartphones; after that it addresses the concept of digital generation and its specificities in the age of connectivity when it comes to visibility, dialoguing with Le Breton (2017a, 2017b), Palfrey and Gasser (2008), Livingstone (2011), and Sibilia (2016). From this point, the author presents an empirical qualitative research conducted with 32 teenagers, using participant observation (Cottle, 2009) and semi-structured interviews
(Triviños, 1987), in a public school in Belo Horizonte, applying Content Analysis (Bardin, 1977) to analyze the transformations that the mediation of mobile devices bring to the relations of this young generation with visibility practices. Results show that although coming from an underdeveloped community, the group has been using smartphones in
their daily life since an early age, a majority of them spend more than ⅓ of the day online, mostly on social media, and ephemeral images are now a significant part of their visual digital expression.
