Aljosa Puzar /Aljoša Pužar/ (PhD Rijeka, PhD Cardiff) is a Croatian-Italian-Slovenian cultural studies, cultural anthropology, gender studies, youth studies, and media studies scholar, ethnographer, writer, and social critic.

Professor (full, tenured) of Cultural Studies and Urban Anthropology, Department of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Director of EUACTO (Eurasian Cultural Trends Observatory) in Rijeka and Ljubljana.

Until 2022 he was an external Lecturer of cultural studies at Berlin University of Arts (UDK, Berlin, Germany) and of intercultural management studies at ERUDIO center of Higher Education (Ljubljana, Slovenia).

Since December of 2016, he has been serving on the Board of the Association for Cultural Studies (ACS, world cultural studies association, Tampere, Finland). He is presently a Vice-Chair of ACS.

From 2007 to 2016 he was teaching and researching at South Korean universities. (Assistant Professor of Urban Anthropology and Cultural Studies /Concurrently: Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies/ at Underwood International College and Department of Cultural Anthropology, Yonsei University, Seoul, Republic of Korea; Assistant professor of Cultural Geography and Gender Studies and at the Graduate School of International Area Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, South Korea etc.).

From 2001-2004 he was an adjunct professor at the University of Trieste (Italy). He is the co-author of the first full BA and MA program in cultural studies in Croatia (University of Rijeka) where he lectured until 2007. He has published six books and other publications regarding minority cultures, border studies, cross-cultural literary history, transitional cultural policy, comparative gender studies, feminist ethnographies, youth studies, Korean studies, popular culture, and the theoretical inquiry into and conceptual modeling of liminal phenomena.
