Different projects and programs (Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, CEEPUS, etc.) support the mobility of students, teachers and staff. For students and teachers, the main goals of mobility are learning and teaching in different cultural and lingual environments, as well as learning languages and benefiting from cross-cultural experiences. In general, neither students nor teachers are prepared for active participation in new cultural and lingual environments. International relation offices mostly take care on lingual preparation of students and sometimes also cultural education is included but rarely any preparation for teachers and staff is done. Do the teachers and staff do not need it? Or do they not want to do it?

In research most of international cooperation is based either on bilateral agreements, either on different international projects and cooperation. Seems that researchers have been earlier involved in international exchange of knowledge and experiences as teachers. In the paper, we will present the experiences with international cooperation in teaching gained when teachers have been involved in mobility programs like Erasmus, transcontinental cooperation or they have taken part in distance and e-learning where the cooperation with international participants (teachers and students) is also possible.

After years of its application in everyday teaching practice we were inspired to analyse the student communication and feedback habits using Moodle. In this paper, we will present the experiences and results of a questionnaire regarding Moodle and eLearning. Firstly we analyse which communications capabilities of Moodle. Additionally, we present an analysis of students’ feedback habits using Moodle regarding the grading of teachers, teaching assistants and the course in general. Finally, we also investigate student’s general opinion on eLearning and experiences with technical problem when using Moodle.

How much data to use, or when to stop the learning process, are the key questions. In the paper, we present an approach for an early assessment of the extracted knowledge (classification models) in the terms of performance (accuracy). The key questions are answered by detecting the point of convergence, i.e., where the classification model's performance does not improve any more even when adding more data items to the learning set. For the learning process termination criteria we developed a set of equations for detection of the convergence that follow the basic principles of the learning curve. The developed solution was evaluated on real datasets. The results of the experiment prove that the solution is well-designed: the learning process stopping criteria are not subjected to local variance and the convergence is detected where it actually has occurred.

There are many ways we can connect with students through Facebook and by that we use time outside course hours to communicate with them. We also expose privacy issues that appear while using this SNS. Facebook can be used as a supplemental tool in courses, because it is an environment students feel familiar with.

This paper focuses on the inference problem on different database structures. It presents possible treats on privacy with relation to the inference, and control methods for mitigating these treats. The paper shows that using only access control, without any inference control is inadequate, since these models are unable to protect against indirect data access. Furthermore, it covers new inference problems which rise from the dimensions of new technologies like XML, semantics, etc.

This feature is also known as Photo Tag Suggest. It enables the automatic scanning of faces on newly uploaded photos and matches these faces with new photos with Facebook users on existing photos. To the best of our knowledge, Facebook has never published any information about the technologies that this feature uses and, therefore, we have investigated the possible technologies used for a feature seen as this. Facebook’s facial recognition feature associates tags with the accounts of other Facebook users. This is most likely done by comparing different faces within their database and by also taking their social contexts into account. This paper also reviews privacy concerns relating to Facebook’s facial recognition features based on a research conducted amongst students using Facebook and also presents guidelines and suggestions for increasing privacy awareness.

As in other hash functions, differential collision search methods of SHA-256 can be described by means of conditions on and between state and message bits. We describe a tool for efficient automatic searching of message pairs conforming to useful sets of conditions, i. e. stemming from (interleaved) local collisions. We not only considerably improve upon previous work [7], but also show the extendability of our approach to larger sets of conditions. Furthermore, we present the performance results of an actual implementation and pose an open problem in this context.

For a better understanding of how privacy issues determine self-disclosure, a model which includes privacy awareness, privacy social norms, privacy policy, privacy control, privacy value, privacy concerns and self-disclosure was built. A total of 661 respondents participated in an online survey and a structural equation modeling was used to evaluate the model. The findings indicated a significant relationship between privacy value/privacy concerns and self-disclosure, privacy awareness and privacy concerns/self-disclosure, privacy social norms and privacy value/self-disclosure, privacy policy and privacy value/privacy concerns/self-disclosure, privacy control and privacy value/privacy concerns. The model from the study should contribute new knowledge concerning privacy issues and their shaping of self-disclosure on social networking sites. It could also help networking sites service providers understand how to encourage users to disclose more information.

There are also many others that support mobility, either worldwide or locally. The main goals of mobility for students and teachers independent of the program are learning and teaching in different cultural and lingual environments, as well as learning languages and benefiting from cross-cultural experiences and cultural differences. Institutions primarily take care of the lingual readiness of students and sometimes cultural education is also included but rarely is any preparation done for teachers and staff. If the preparation is done for teachers and staff on mobility it is usually never done for those who are staying at home and working at a home institution with mobile students. The situation is also similar for non-mobile home students. Real life shows that preparing for cultural differences is needed for all of them.
