INFLUENCE OF ATTACHMENT STYLES ON MARITAL SATISFACTION AMONG MARRIED COUPLES, 2021

They have been studying the factors that lead to a happy marriage for a long time. Adult attachment styles, according to the prior study, serve an active role in forming an intimate relationship. The purpose of the current study was to examine the influence of adult attachment styles (Secure, Fearful, Dismissive, and Preoccupied) on marital satisfaction among Indian married couples. 304 respondents (152 females & 152 males) from various cities across India participated in the study. To assess the participants' attachment styles and marital satisfaction, the Revised Adult Attachment Scale (Collins, 1996) and ENRICH-SF Marital Satisfaction Scale (Fowers, & Olson, 1993) were used respectively. The statistical analysis was determined using the Chi-square, Kruskal-Wallis One way ANOVA, and Mann-Whitney U tests. Results showed that the respondents with secure and dismissive attachment styles had higher marital satisfaction than the respondents with preoccupied and fearful attachment styles. The study found that male and female subjects did not differ significantly in their attachment styles and marital satisfaction. However, participants who were married for more than 20 years were more in number to have experienced a secure attachment style and they had higher marital satisfaction. Psychotherapists and counselors in general, and couple-therapists in particular, will benefit from the current research. Further study will aid in a better understanding of this finding.

Many researchers have derived the concept explaining the involvement of climatic conditions leading to criminal behavior or increasing crime rates regionally. The subsequent literature provides the illustrated correlation between crime and climate. The probable influence of climate on crime scenes is analogous to the present modern world. However, the authors found it intriguing that the social imbalances and the perpetuity of residing at different topographical areas influence criminal tendencies. Although many other studies have negated the postulated relationship, the authors wanted to refocus things again for a better understanding of the correlation. The present paper tries to understand the imbalances in society caused due to non-conventional factors. It concentrates on the successive growth of modern civilization, which carries the emotional parameters at varied environmental conditions.

The adequate power of words was explored in positive psychology under diverse settings on humans and animals. Nonetheless, the present article looked at the context of word power from a different perspective. Regardless of the language employed, words have the potential to influence the context in which they are held positively or negatively. With the assistance of students and faculty from the psychology department at St. Philomena's College in Mysore city, India, the current study has experimented under experimental-positive and negative- and controlled- neutral- conditions. Six bottles- 2 positives (each one called Positive Lemon), 2 negatives (each one called Negative Lemon), and 2 neutrals (each one called Neutral Lemon) were used as the study variables. The words were written on small pieces of paper and then pasted to the bottles containing lemon slices. The experiment started at 08. 08. 2015 and ended at 07. 09. 2016. After more than a year, both Positive Lemons were wonderfully preserved. Both Neutral Lemons transformed into a black liquid and then a smoky black color powder adhered at the bottom of both bottles. One Negative Lemon was preserved, but it was odorless, while the other one degraded, but substantially less than the slices of Neutral Lemon. In September 2016, after opening the bottles and examining them under the microscope, it was observed that the microscopic representation of the lemon slices supported the discovery remarkably.

On the contrary the only factor which highly affected individual's self-esteem was education. Education and selfesteem indicated a positive correlation. Overall results for the study revealed that higher the experience of abusive behavior lower would be the level of self esteem in the participants. Forever the experiences of abusive behaviors differ significantly between married couples and divorces .

The benefits of mindfulness have been well established in psychological literature. Mindfulness aids people to focus their attention on the present moment and equips them to be responsive, not reactive, in critical situations where decision-making and problem-solving matter. Equally important, the Locus of control (LOC) is a construct that comes with mindfulness in many psychological debates. Locus of control is how an individual perceives control over the outcome of events in his life internally, opposed to external forces (beyond their control). Although the usual debate is whether mindfulness can empower individuals to have a better locus of control, the present paper has a reverse look at the subject. It examined the influence of LOC on the trait or dispositional mindfulness. Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) was used to assess participants’ trait mindfulness, and the Internal, External LOC (I.E..L.C) scale was used to evaluate the participants' LOC. One hundred sixty-seven participants have participated in the current study. The present investigation found that LOC influences trait mindfulness. It was understood that ILOC positively impacts trait mindfulness.
Furthermore, the result revealed that participants’ educational level had an impact on their dispositional mindfulness, while gender difference was found not influential. Implications of the study and suggestions for further research were discussed.

Love and loss are two sides of the same coin; when we choose one, we open the door to the possibility of the other (Kosminsky & Jordan, 2016, p. 53). It is hardly surprising, therefore, that some similarities arise in how we establish attachment relationships and react to them throughout detachment and reattachment. Each person we love is unique, regardless of how many close relationships we have or with whom we have them. As a result, mourning for that person is a oneof-a-kind experience when the time comes. However, these universal sentiments share certain characteristics, which provide a framework for comprehending loss (Shear In Neimeyer, 2016, p. 14). Loss is an inevitable part of life and development. This may sound paradoxical, but the truth is that new life, change, and forward progress can only occur through losing (changing) an old lifestyle, behaviour pattern, or other...
