general coolness As a possible future UNE student, I've gotta say, the "UNE Experience" thing was pretty rad.
Highlights
:
-It wasn't cold. In fact, a bit chilly in the morning, but beautiful the rest of the day.
-Studying at the beach = Fantastic idea. Also, seals. ♥
-There is a chocolate milk machine in the caf. OMG. I know I shouldn't be getting excited over that, but I have never seen a chocolate milk machine anywhere else. And I really love chocolate milk.
-The frosh rooms are horrendously small, but the soph (and presumably, junior) rooms are pretty damn big.
-I think the campus is about as big as the town I live in. O_o
-The Dean fellow seemed like a really big dork, but he was actually sorta funny.
Downers
:
-The boys dorm rooms smell like nothing I have ever smelled before.
-11 x 15 feels like an awfully really small space for two people. And of course, the question always comes about, "What if me and my roomie don't get along?".
All in all, I had an excellent time. :D

yah sup Hey, my name Kelly. *waves*
So here's the story. I'm a high school senior. Yay and horay for me. So now comes the glorious time when I must pick a college to eventually
sell my soul to
go to and continue my learning and blah blah blah.
I pick UNE and -just my luck- they accepted me! :D
In about 22 days, I have to go visit the Biddeford campus, as a part of the "Experience UNE" program. Here's my question(s):
-What the heck do they do at the "Experience UNE" things anyway?
-What's the weather like (besides cold)? Especially towards April... What's the April weather usually like?
-What's life like in Biddeford and Maine in general? Like... what's there to do?
Hokay then. Bye.

so um, according to that ghost hunter guy he found that stella used to be an old orphanage and is haunted by little kids...
i find that really realllly creapy, because i worked in that building last year and would always hear strange noises. my boss would tell me that it was the pipes or the mice they kept for med school research, but now i don't believe her.

We're UFO Music, a label that is for a revolution in the music industry, and at the moment we're looking for label reps to help us out with shows in the Maine area (and beyond). Basically its an entry position with great potential for growth (possibly A&R work if things work out).
First job is simple. We have a group called Enter the Hagis that has a show in November in Portland. We would basically need you to hand out stickers at the show and possibly put up flyers at retail/clubs. If you're interested there is a free ticket in there for you.
Requirements:
- Good Work ethic
- 21+ (specifically for this show, if you aren't you can still contact us and we'll put you on the list for future shows)
If you are at all interested, please let us know ASAP.
Cheers!

so i changed my lij name, not that anyone in this community had it or commented on mine, and rejoined this group. though i won't be attending une for much longer.
so the point of this is that i heart abby the maintainer of this community because she is teh sex
and that if you all feel like adding me go ahead. my entries are usually entertaining.
much love and see you all september 5th for move in day!!

hola. i'm attending une this fall and i'm currently enrolled in the med. bio. program. over the summer though, i thought i might want to switch over to marine biology. is that something i tell administration about at orientation or do i wait until fall to switch my major?
other than that whole ordeal, i was just wondering what are some basic things that i (as an incoming freshman) should know about college life in general? what professors are good/bad, etc..
okay. i'm done. laterr.
p.s.) if you would like you can add me up as a friend. :P

Things I took for granted about home that I didn't realize until I was in college
-being able to listen to music really really obnoxiously loud whenever i wanted to
-alone time. definately alone time.
-having things to do that aren't going to walmart.(i live in a city, so theres always something open or to do at night.
-diners. real greek owned diners that aren't dennys.
-pizza.
-bagels that aren't rolls with a hole in the middle of them.
-food that has a taste, and isn't mass produced.
-a bed that isn't 5 feet up in the air.
-good cell phone reception...i think assissi is just a black hole of a no-service zone.
-public transportation.
Things I took for granted about college that I didn't realize until I went home for spring break.
-not having my parents arround.
-not having someone to talk to all the time.
-roomates. though i like my space at times, i can't live without those girls.
-not having to pay for food or cooking it.

Things I took for granted about home that I didn't realize until I was in college
having fun with my down time. i never had much of it, but when i did, i did absolutely nothing. the ease of walking around in a sports bra and shorts...no one in my house would have ever considered it trashy. and enjoying my brother's company...he being in just his boxers, one leg up on the couch; that was never seen as sexy at my house. strangers make you cover up so much.
and eating whi8le standing up. i did a lot of that, and i ate wicked fast, too. i miss that, always going. i was by myself pretty much, so it was easy. at school, there's always some one around. i dont think i took my alone time at home for granted, but i do miss spreading out all of my junk and sitting in the middle of it, going with whatever came to mind. and i miss the music...oh, the music!
Things I took for granted about college that I didn't realize until I went home for spring break.
i didnt go home for spring break. but when i went home winter break mid-freshmen year, i remember hating the fact that the people i wanted to see weren't just down the hall from my room or just a 2 min walk to the next dorm over. i also didnt get to have a bagel a day. just that constant friendly feeling.
