Starting from mainframe user interfaces, through the different client-server architectures we show the trends, what kind of surfaces the end-users would like to use. We discuss the reasons why the trends could not always be followed by different kind of systems. Even if such novelties are not accepted by Business, involving them in Education might be advantageous. The goal of this paper is to show the evolution in willing and realization of different approaches and also their affect in learning both at Company and at University level. We mainly focus on HTML based GUIs as well to emphasize the already traditional new era. Our paper collects the evolution of HTML capabilities and the current achievements as well to show the difference between smaller and larger software development companies. As an example we follow the available GUIs offered by one of the leading ERP manufacturers and show the education possibilities, requirements in the different evolution stepping-stones.

These solutions many times need customer side, project based extensions on different levels like database structure, data-model, functional model, programming, user interface, etc. These extensions should be kept and in some cases redesigned after applying patches or upgrading to new versions. Our paper gives direction how we can build into a software such capability to handle the sustainability and long-term maintenance.

ABSTRACT The processes in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems were automatized in the ... more ABSTRACT The processes in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems were automatized in the past several years. The evolution of the automation started with process flows, followed by role based task separation. In the same time the systems started to decouple the monolith solutions to smaller pieces to create more flexible components from them. This approach leads the ERP systems to build and offer services for collaborative purposes. The web enablement provided more power with the Web Service technology to drive the technology to follow the SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) design paradigm. The services orientation step over the system and sometime the company boundaries and require integrations on different level. One of these integration layers is the level of composites, where new application above the services can be built. Another layer is the process engine, where the services can be linked together into enhanced workflows defining backend and human activities. This layer is defined as Business Process Management (BPM) for business application. This paper intends to show the requirement of SOA implementation requirements from human point of view and describes the different thinking in design, development and end-user, when BPM and composites are in use.

Probably that's why such a lecture is usually divided into several parts, containing multiple tests and checkpoints. The effectiveness of the learning process might be evaluated by tests, experiments and problems. However, even if all of these distinct evaluation types seem to reflect a successful knowledge transfer, there could still remain gaps in the understanding process of students. This paper introduces a model based approach of knowledge transfer by means of supporting explanation materials, like charts, videos and animations. A few examples of Physics phenomena in Mechanics describe how the application of multimedia tools can assist in making understood the sense of physics phenomena easier. It is found out that visualization of phenomena in the nature makes the understanding easier in addition to definition, experiments and problems.

The operation model for cloud-based application has already became the new standard in ERP implem... more The operation model for cloud-based application has already became the new standard in ERP implementations. The model has introduced a new software abstraction layer, which hides the data center model from the customers. This layer covers the architecture, operating system, database and elements. When the layer covers the complexity of the middleware layers, allows the owners to concentrate on implementing the core business logic only. The risk is usually that more and more resources are allocated to the infrastructure; with this model the resources can be balanced with the business side. In the end this will lead to extended application lifecycle, while the core functions of the business logic are totally separated from the recently changing infrastructure layer. Standard merge and release management, starting from pre alpha state and describes the way until the gold release, was changed in this operational model with an agile way release process. This results the overall possibility of always using the latest version of the application always, when using the Software as a Service cloud model. Code refactoring, reusability is a key factor, as having another abstraction layer between the platform specific and the platform independent model. Having the proper abstract transformation layer between these two keeps the application roles separated, and the end user does not have to create a whole IT support organization, because the abstract layer will hide the low level infrastructure. This article focuses mainly to the change management questions which arise when an organization moves from standard data center solution to a cloud based (SaaS) model. The ERP solutions should be redesigned, reconstructed and sometimes rebuilt from scratch to provide continuous versioning, and be able to offer customer services. As the goal is always to be able to provide services at a lower operational cost there must be a solid reusability method in the application. Code refactoring and reusability methods should be changed also, using and implemented on a separated abstraction layer. The transformation layer has to be able to maintain the goals of the reliability of the software product during its whole lifecycle. These middleware layer have to be able to maintain the reusability of the 3rd party software elements, but the commonly used parts have to be in the same format as in the base application. The article shows different ways and possibilities which all can be used for building up an application environment in the cloud using software as a service and the other different service bus like methodologies, and focuses on switching the operation model from the on premise datacenter application to the cloud based SaaS model.

This paper discusses some new features of innovative SQL development in SAP, reflecting the effectiveness of innovative options in development. It is found out that developments should designed in a proper way, when old style and new methodologies are balanced for the business functions and also for the company where the developments are introduced.

After new business functions have been implemented at enterprise level, it takes some time when the end-users are getting familiar with the concepts, the technology and the daily usage of them. Built-in functions, therefore, make the system reliable, robust and well-known environment. Nevertheless, according to customer and business requirements, it is sometimes necessary to change the scope of business functionalities, the user interfaces. Innovation can have a great impact on business operation at company level. SAP Screen Personas demonstrates how an innovative technology makes easier and comfortable to operate business functions in a simplified user interface. It is also discussed that the role of such new toolset should be considered during a post-implementation ERP process.

SAP, the leading ERP System in the World, delivers the newest standard information technology, architecture and methodology when introducing its new product. New features of the introduced product gradually replace the old techniques and approaches. Nevertheless, such informatics systems are more robust to get rid of older techniques immediately. There are still existing important solutions in the SAP systems using old Development tools and methods. There is a lack of learning methodology to bridge the gap of old, reliable and new technology. Present paper demonstrates how old techniques can still exist in the newest SAP architecture. This development example provides our students information about old but efficient Development Tools and Techniques.

Business portfolios of ERP Suppliers, such as SAP or Microsoft, have gradually been extended and improved to fulfill customers' requirements almost in any functional areas using defined standard business processes. Market leader ERP software providers, however, have to innovate their products continuously. Once a business or technological solution is being integrated in a software component, a further crucial requirement is to provide a long term support and also to take innovation into consideration. The present paper introduces our new approach, a customer-oriented ERP change management methodology, firstly applied to Microsoft Dynamics and SAP User Interfaces.
