This field was required to explain why some, but not all, fundamental particles have mass.

Inside a reference telescope, two different and innovative detectors were placed for careful tests. The first was a 4k-Pixel Matrix of Deep N Well MAPS, developed in a 130nm CMOS Technology, square pixels 50μm wide, thinned down to 100μm and equipped with a digital sparsified readout running up to 50MHz.

This study finds no statistically significant deviation from the Standard Model prediction and places 95% confidence-level exclusion limits on the production cross section times branching ratio of light bosons for several parameter sets of a Hidden Valley model.

These measurements provide insight into the strong interaction (QCD) at low energy scales and show that predictions of current phenomenological models cannot fully describe the measured observables in all kinematic regions. As shown in Ref.[2], the limitation of models is particularly apparent when particles with low transverse momentum (pT< 500 MeV) are studied.

Dijet masses up to 4.0 TeV have been probed. No resonance-like features have been observed in the dijet mass spectrum, and all angular distributions are consistent with the predictions of QCD.

The matrix has 128 columns and 32 rows of pixels and is divided into 256 regions of 4 times 4 pixels, named macro-pixels (MPs). The chip is an upgrade of a smaller version having 256 pixels that was designed and tested. The two chips were designed via STM 130 nm CMOS technology. The pixel dimension is 50 by 50 mum 2.

The beam test setup was composed of a four double sided microstrip reference telescope and different detectors (DUTs) placed inside: a 4k-Pixel Matrix of Deep N Well MAPS, developed in a 130nm CMOS Technology and a high resistivity double sided silicon detector, with short strips at 45∘ angle to the detectors edge, read out by the FSSR2 chip.

As the experiment complexity, the accelerator backgrounds and luminosity increase we need increasingly exclusive selections to efficiently select the rare events inside the huge background. We present a fast, high-quality, track-based event selection for the self-triggered SLIM5 silicon telescope.

Groups of 4× 4 pixels form a macro-pixel (MP). The readout architecture is parallel and could overcome the readout speed limit of big matrices. As the output port can only accept one-hit information at a time, an internal queuing system has been provided to face high hit-rate conditions.
