The assessment was conducted during 2018 on a group of 30 children aged between 3 and 7, in order to identify therapeutic games that would offer them support to help them better manage trauma, so that they can adapt more easily to the new family, the new situation or the new context in which they find themselves. The references below take into account therapy interventions carried out in the period 2018-2020; from March 2020 they have been suspended in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Tzuby's Kids had a programmed approach to evaluate the symptomatology specific to children participating in activities, and developed art and play based group therapy programs. We used the Early Childhood Inventory-4 (ECI-4), a screening tool that assesses the most prevalent psychiatric disorders in children aged 3-7. The items contained in ECI-4 are based on the diagnostic criteria provided by the American Psychiatric Association (1994) in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and the test was calibrated to a national standard. The chart below shows the "Top 10" of the identified disorders.

The results allow thus for the first time a realistic picture of Romanian lobbying activities and can be used as reference in the strategy of any lobbying organisation, but also by political decision makers for a better assessment of this activity. Following the fact that together with GfK Romania we realised a national survey on representative samples of urban population over 15 years old, we could integrate in the present study an analysis of the public perception concerning the Romanian lobbying activities, essential element both for lobbyist and for politicians.

The Bible has specific references to orphans and their social care, James 1:27 defining pure and faultless religion before God as looking after orphans and widows in their distress. In the New Testament, the image of adoption appears within the messages of the Apostle Paul to the Ephesians (1:5), Galatians (4:6) and Romans (8:15), where he uses it in order to exemplify the essence of the Gospel from a soteriological perspective. However, throughout history there have been forms of care that we do not find in the letter or spirit of Holy Scripture, such as orphanages or other forms of residential care. The paper analyzes the instruments of orphan social care in ancient Judeo-Greco-Roman culture, abandonment and infanticide during the early church, and then continues the historical journey, providing a critical perspective given by the biblical model we can identify, directly or indirectly in Holy Scripture. The conclusions regarding the biblical ways of caring for orphans are in line with the latest research on the impact of abandonment and family-based care. However, they will provoke the current practice of many believers given that some of the most popular methods of care are not identified as being in the letter or spirit of Holy Scripture.

In reality, this “temporary intervention” usually lasts until they become an adult. For these children, who cannot be reintegrated into their biological family, their path to adoption is made especially difficult by exaggerated laws, described in this report.
In recent years some of Romania’s adoption laws have been improved; but these improvements are usually ignored at the local level and we suspect that priority may be given to keeping children in the system based on the miniscule rate of adoptability for institutionalized children (only 1.5%).

In this article, I aimed to perform a comparative analysis of lobby regulation characteristics in the European parliamentary systems (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom), the European Union and the United Stated of America against previous Romanian regulation endeavours. Also, the article underlines the necessity of lobby regulation to comply with national fundamental rights.

Rapid change is quickly transforming the practice of internal audit raising significant issues fo... more Rapid change is quickly transforming the practice of internal audit raising significant issues for audit leaders and their chief stakeholders. As I highlighted in the article “Internal Audit Changing Expectations,” written for the “Financial Audit” Journal (published in April 2009), there is a clear gap between the current focus of many internal audit functions and where they need to set their sights in order to deliver greater value to their stakeholders.
Since the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (2002), internal audit groups have been concentrating on financial and compliance risks, traditional areas of focus where their confidence levels are typically high. Consequently, to address the rising expectations of their chief stakeholders, internal audit groups tend to sharpen their focus on strategic, operational, and business risks.
Within the article I concluded that, throughout the next years, the value of controls-focused approach is expected to diminish as internal audit tends to adopt a risk-centric mindset. Study results indicate that five identifiable trends – globalization, changes in risk management, advances in technology, talent and organizational issues and changing internal audit roles – will have the greatest impact on internal audit in the coming years.

The article evaluates the benefits of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for shareholders by studying the lobbying behaviour of investors and corporate insiders to affect the final implemented rules under the Act.
All over the world, regulatory pressures have overshadowed the risk management function for the past few years and we may see a high impact on Romanian companies as well. SOX compliance brings high regulation costs as well as competitive benefits such as improved ability to prevent, quickly detect, correct, and escalate critical risk issues, reduced cost of risk management by improved sharing of risk information and integration of existing risk management functions.
However, SOX compliance not only refers to financial side of corporations, but also to the IT departments considering the corporations’ electronic records and access rights. The lack of controls over spreadsheets has been a contributing factor in financial reporting errors at a number of companies. In this article, you may find examples to highlight the importance of understanding how spreadsheets are used in a company’s financial reporting process and evaluating the controls over spreadsheets as part of the company’s overall Section 404 process.

This article argues for the need of a theological basis in understanding orphancare and adoption from a biblical perspective, as well as the need for a critical assessment of the effectiveness of these activities from a missionary perspective.
The paper analyzes the role of practical theology and how methods in the social sciences can be integrated with theological reflection, starting from Schleiermacher's understanding (19th century), to contemporary theological perspectives. The application to the specific situation of orphancare and adoption as part of the Christian missionfield shows different perceptions at different times, practical actions being shaped by theological reflections.
The conclusions of this paper are challenging for contemporary Christian missionaries, critical analysis being applied both to the theological reflection, as well as to the social effects that the orphancare mission patterns have created during the last century.

Biblical writings are analyzed both from the perspective of orphan care and adoption, in the relevant cultural contexts, respectively Jewish, Greek-Roman and Asiro-Babylonian. Then, the identified aspects are put in the context of recent studies of neuroplasticity and the impact of trauma on child development, to identify any parallels between natural and spiritual adoption. Transformative factors are identified in both situations, which makes the topic of adoption to be a relevant one nowadays. Considering the effects of adoption, the imperative to protect the orphans and the image of the Gospel that the world receives by the mere act of adoption, we conclude that Christian families have the most compelling arguments for natural adoption.

THE PRACTICE OF ADOPTION IN (NEO)PROTESTANT COMMUNITIES IN ROMANIA Intervention through family p... more THE PRACTICE OF ADOPTION IN (NEO)PROTESTANT COMMUNITIES IN ROMANIA
Intervention through family placement and foster care as a transitional measure prove to be preferable to any form of institutionalization. In case of children who cannot be reintegrated into their biological family, adoption proves to be the best reparative solution, considering the physical and psycho-emotional health of children in the protection system. In this context, the study, conducted in Evangelical Protestant (also called (neo)Protestant) communities in Romania, shows a similar culture when compared with the motivations of the general population in Romania (Buzducea, Lazăr, 2011). However, when community leaders have been teaching about the biblical perspectives on adoption, we noticed a growing interest in its practical aspects among regular community members. About half of the communities we analyzed are already involved in activities related to abandoned children (visits to orphanages and foster homes, temporary accommodation of children during the holidays or other activities), and some of them developed social services in this area (family-type homes, social apartments or day-care centers). The chances that families involved in providing these services would decide to foster or adopt a child increase to 50 % (foster) and, respectively, to 65.5 % (adopt). Significant percentages of respondents show that the involvement would be significantly higher in case they would be exposed to the Biblical doctrines of adoption, they would understand the adoption process, and they would remove the fear of excessive bureaucracy they expect from the Child Protection System.
