Taking this as our object of study, the present article conducts an anthropological discussion around the concepts of culture, ideology, and cosmology as proposed by Eric Wolf (1999). Cosmology provides a basis for ideology so as to offer elements for criteria such as truth and the inevitability of a given project for power. We point out how cybernetics works as a cosmology for Singularism and we explore political and philosophical differences between exponents of Singularism, which -- to a large extent - express different appropriations of cybernetics in their construction of the concept of Singularity.

Aprofundamos
contemporânea do mundo.
A etnografia proposta deve considerar essas

In the 1990s, there was a fear that the announced “information age” would lead to the loss of job opportunities, especially for the most vulnerable populations (generally in the Global South), in view of the increasing digitalization of the world of work. The second half of the 2010s
witnessed an epidemic of misinformation, in part derived from fragmentation of the information ecosystem. This would demand efforts to promote digital literacy that would instill in citizens a rationale to make them immune to manipulation.
This article examines the emergence of both digital inclusion instrumentalized for sub-alternative insertion in the labor market, and digital literacy as a palliative agent against the misinformation epidemic. In parallel, there are debates around an amplified concept of digital inclusion – which reflects the importance of going beyond computer education policies for the use of specific software, including education for the autonomy of individuals and the appropriation of technologies (Evangelista, 2014, 2018). In addition, the idea of digital literacy should not be restricted to teaching users to make consistent searches on the Internet or to individually protect their privacy, but also to move toward a broad understanding of the role of algorithms and software architectures in the production and reproduction of behaviors.

Despite problems in funding (and in the very irregular distribution of such funds), universities and private research centers changed and grew over the last few years. In 1999, Brazil (whose external debt is over 50% of GDP), invested 0.87% of GDP in Research & Development: a percentage comparable to that of several Mediterranean countries.

Bo... more Literary journalists and anthropologists conduct their fieldwork with similar tools and goals. Both use listening and observation to establish contact with the Other - the group being studied - and therefore identify, understand and interpret daily interactions and scenes. In spite of the similarities, their conduct in the field suffers interference due to the certain particularities of each one of them: production conditions, professional relations, social roles, methodological principles, professional ethics and the commitment to the final product – scientific research or literary reporting. In this article, we put forth a theoretical reflection about the similarities and contrasts between the fieldwork of literary journalists and anthropologists. At the same time, we reflect on what characterizes each of these professional researchers and their respective disciplines. For this purpose, we explore authors such as Harrington (2003), Martinez (2008; 2017), Lago (2010), Brandão (2007...

The idea was to build a global network of surveillance cameras, which serve as an additional security tool to fight terrorism. Despite the harsh criticism, the initiative was carried out for a few months, having received several contributions. Not informing the reasons or if the system ever came into operation, the governments quietly canceled the project. Groups of hackers around the world, however, discovered the truth. An artificial intelligence called DIO (Damocles Information Operative) was built. It's a distributed, integrated, self-regenerative system, able to control all cameras of the globe. Resistance to DIO was divided into two groups: blind, dedicated to disable the cameras, blinding them; and lens, dedicated to restore control of the cameras to their original owners, removing the cameras from DIO's network.
Using a software for mobile phones, the teams fight DIO in accordance with their philosophies. The player chooses which group they will join and have the following tasks: geo-locate and photograph the surveillance cameras scattered in the street; compete with the other team for the control of cameras. Transformed into geolocated points with which the player interacts, cameras can only be taken with the player being physically present at a close distance to them.
The game is under construction.
