We discuss the constrained and unconstrained solutions. Based on the concept of fuzzy orthogonality, we propose the fuzzy orthogonal least squares method to solve fuzzy linear regression problems. We show that, in case of (fuzzy) orthogonal regressors, an important property of the least squares method remains valid. We obtain the same estimates of the parameters of the model if we regress on all regressors, or on each regressor considered separately. An empirical application illustrates our methods.

In particular, we focus on firms from the industrial sector and analyse whether reporting to Carbon Disclosure Project has a positive effect and leads the firm to reduce their CO 2 emissions. In order to evaluate this effect we use a relatively new method called 'synthetic control approach', which allows us not only to measure the impact of the firms' policy, but also to evaluate the significance of our estimates. Based on a unique database we constructed, we found that with the exception of three firms, there was no significant effect on the firms' emissions.

The distribution’s properties of data resulting from the defuzzification process are generally not given or investigated. By simulations, we intend to investigate the location, dispersion and symmetry characteristics of the estimated distributions. Our simulations for different cases of input distributions and membership functions show first that the computed statistical measures don’t depend on the sample sizes. This phenomenon is particularly remarkable in the case of the signed distance and the mean of the maximum methods. Second, the signed distance is the method tending the most to conserve the symmetry of the distributions while the smallest and largest of maximum are the worst in keeping the skewness property.

Kotler and Keller (2006, p. 6) define marketing as "a social process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want through creating, offering, and freely exchanging products and services of value with others". Marketing therefore deals with identifying and meeting human and social needs. Marketing is both an art and a science. It is the art and the knowledge to manage customer relationships, extend customer life cycles, tailor the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion), and optimize customer equity (Blattberg et al., 2001). Robert Lauterborn (1990, p. 26) suggested connecting the company's four P's with the customers' four C's, product with customer

In this perspective, it is essential to have a clear look at the register’s main statistical features. To better understand it and benefit more from its richness, we propose analysing the raw data by an appropriate clustering method.
