The motivation of this work was the ongoing research work in hyperfine spectroscopy there. The purpose of this project was to design an algorithm for modelling the hyperfine splitting in atoms and ions and their classification with the atomic and ionic energy levels of the element. We also developed a simulation during this project which, using the algorithm, models the hyperfine splitting in atoms and ions and allows efficient management of hyperfine data and classification of hyperfine structures.

This book outlines a brief account on the historical development of the structure of atom and the field of Spectroscopy. I will then explain the basis and origin of hyperfine splitting in element and why its modelling and classification is important to us. In addition, I also discuss the mathematical structure of the algorithm and simulation and how it models the hyperfine slitting in an atom or ion while giving a quick overview of the programming platform we used. However, I believe, the algorithm and procedure is equally valid with any other programming and computation platform.

Apart from the usual structure of dark matter halo around galaxies, simulations of galaxy formation suggests an additional dark matter component in Milky Way mass galaxies similar to the stellar disk of stars in galaxies. Current detection experiment for dark matter are configured for the standard halo structure. In this work we study how the existence of dark matter disk can effect these experiments. More importantly, we focus on the low energy spectrum of WIMP scattering in direct detection experiments and propose lowered threshold in current experiment which can exploit the effects of dark matter disk, if it indeed exists.

mind the the vast amount of information gathered about the Cosmos came from analyzing Electromagnetic waves of different wavelengths. In this paper we present a design for a spectrometer to electronically record the diffraction pattern of gas based spectral lamps. Although, for the purpose of demonstration, we present results from gas based spectral lamps but the setup can be used with any light source or monochoromator, a prism or diffraction grating.

We are creating machines that are smarter and more interactive than before. In this research our aim is to study and understand the implication of smarter-than-human machines on the mankind. We seek to develop protocols and laws that can be built into such “artificially” intelligent (AI) machines to ensure the safety and security of the human race and its survival.

Not only do they help experimenters analyse results, they are also important for information and data management. The use of computer simulations becomes especially important in the study of hyperfine interactions within atoms and ions where there are many levels to be managed. Furthermore, formula and equations used for the determination of hyperfine structure are extremely lengthy and hence very time consuming.
