This research aimed to know the increasing of student’s mathematical communication skill and se... more This research aimed to know the increasing of student’s mathematical communication skill and self-concept which was taught by problem based learning as compared to the conventional learning. The design of this research was pretest posttest control group design. The population was all students of grade 8 th of regular class of SMPN 4 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2013/2014 that were distributed into eight classes. The samples were students of VIIIE and VIIIG class who were taken by purposive sampling technique. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical communication skill and self-concept scale. The conclusion of this research was the problem based learning could increase the student’s mathematical communication skill, but not increase the student’s self-concept. High School Mathematics Teacher's Ability in in Developing Instruments of Mathematical Literacy T... more High School Mathematics Teacher's Ability in in Developing Instruments of Mathematical Literacy Test: Study in Lampung Timur Regency. This study aims to describe the ability of high school mathematics teachers in East Lampung Regency in developing instruments of mathematical literacy test. This research is a descriptive study with 19 respondents of high school mathematics teachers. The research data were obtained through test, performance test and questionnaires. Data analyzed using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that: a) 63.16% teachers only able to create routine problem which measure employing stage in mathematical process; b) male teachers with more than 25 years teaching experience are only able to develop 5.26% mathematical problems which measure formulating stage; c) Reasoning and argument is the fundamental mathematics skills that was rarely measured in the developed instrument; d) using symbolic, formal and technical language and operations is the most frequently skills that is measured in the developed instrument.

This type of learning strategy certainly has an impact on developing student’s learning habit and also thinking habit. The impact of the implementation of online learning need to be measured to reveal the changes as the result of learning strategy which was adopted by the educators. This impact needs to be studied from the mathematical habit of mind as the point of view. The research method was survey research with population all students of mathematics education study program in Lampung University. The stages of development were research and information collecting, student’s worksheet prepartion, student’s worksheet validation, preliminary field testing and main field testing.The research subject was grade XI students in SMAN 1 Purbolinggo in academic year 2016/2017.The data of this research were obtained by observation, interview, mathematical creative thinking ability test and self concept scale. The student’s worksheet development was valid according to material and media expert.
