Data are collected through a CAWI questionnaire administered to 471 companies in Lombardy, divided into two parts. In the first one, recruiters are asked to choose and rank four possible profiles of new graduates for five different job vacancies. In the second part the entrepreneurs are asked about their socio-demographic features. The project has adopted an experimental research design using the conjoint analysis method, i.e. the generation of different joint combinations of attributes related to...

This work carries out the evaluations of these requirements for individuals that through HR company have placed themselves in the phase of match with the different professional figures. This work will focus the attention on healthcare industry. Starting from data about job vacancies for this sector in Italy in 2017, the aim of the work is to carry out a monetary evaluation of the most important requirements. The analysed requirements have been chosen among a set of soft skills and join with the experience and two knowledge indicators. The methodology used for this work is the choice based conjoint analysis. Using this model, it is possible to identify the features of a candidate that mainly influence the entrepreneurs’ choice and the weight of these requirements in the wages. The use of a choice based conjoint ...

We surveyed 366 Business Studies freshmen at the beginning of 2009-10 academic year in a large Italian University. Results confirm the influence of variables found to be relevant in previous studies and suggest that more research is needed on the role of non-observable traits in influencing financial literacy.

They are composed of two sub-models, the longitudinal and the survival sub-model. For the longitudinal sub-model a multivariate mixed model can be proposed. Whereas for the survival sub-model, a Cox proportional hazards model is proposed, considering jointly the influence of more than one longitudinal covariate onto the risk of the event. The purpose of the work is to extend an estimation method based on a joint likelihood formulation to the case in which the longitudinal submodel is multivariate through the implementation of an Expectation-Maximisation (EM) algorithm.

Nevertheless, financial literacy has been assessed through different methodological approaches across studies. To address the lack of a common and agreed upon methodology to measure financial literacy, in 2011 the OECD-INFE network developed a core questionnaire [1] to be administered across a wide range of countries. The present paper focuses on the assessment approach used to evaluate financial literacy among the Italian adult population through the administration of the OECD-INFE questionnaire. The study proposes alternative methods \u2013 Item Response Theory and Classification and Regression Trees \u2013 to treat the survey data, thus showing that different methods to analyze data could lead to diverse outputs. The study highlights the crucial role that the methodology issue plays in assessing financial literacy. Specifically, the paper suggests that financial literacy research should open up to alternative and new methodological approach in order to obtain ever more reliable measures of financial literacy, genuinely able to capture and effectively address the educational needs of different population groups
