Systematic surface survey led to the discovery of a site characterized by the presence of structures related to fortified walls. The site of Portella Giudei has been identified as a military building, in life between the 4 th and mid 3 rd century BC; the imposing walls give it a peculiar strategic/military significance, with a function of control of the territory, complementary to the ancient Ippana, with whom he was in direct connection, and whose inhabitants wanted, probably, its construction, in defense of the roads leading to the town.
