One such tool is the vision of a movie or part of it. This paper is the outcome of a didactic proposal for students regarding the vision of a fi lm of Swedish director Ingmar Bergman to discuss mainly the meaning of the concept of “place”.

The favorable climate in the region provides the possibility to practice all year long, and has been viewed by local entrepreneurs asa way for benefiting both the local economy as well as providing a healthyand socially engaging atmosphere for the players.
This paper aims to provide a clear and compelling look at this up and coming opportunity from a geographical point of view, proposing an analysis of location choices and environmental impact as well as highlighting the positive impacts to the Sicilian tourism industry.

Many Sicilian cities have in fact been destroyed by natural events many times over the centuries. This can certainly be understood negatively as the destruction of entire towns, the emission of volcanic ash, and the mutation of landscapes by a terrifying force have instilled fearful memories in local populations. But from another point of view one must consider the positive elements of Etna. Its beautiful landscapes were a major attraction on the Grand Tour, and its inhabitants have long associated the volcano with the concept of rebirth and fertility. This paper analyzes two age groups of residents in the town of Nicolosi and is a small part of an ongoing research project that is much more complex, involving representative samples of the entire population of several towns around Etna.

The American geographeris is known to the international academic community for having written in 1925 the essay “The Morphology of Landscape” which clearly identifies a new methodology to be used in geographical studies.
The aim of this work is to focus on the interesting production of the last years of Carl Sauer. In particular, we discuss his long-life practice of research and the methodology used for the analysis of the American continent at the time of Christopher Columbus, taking into account the 1966 ambitious work "The Early Spanish Main".
