The present study aims to describe the structure of reef fish communities in Balneário Barra do Sul, northern coast of Santa Catarina state. Field campaigns were conducted in Tipitinga and Lobos Island, between February and July 2006. Data were collected using underwater visual census method. Were recorded 3055 individuals, of 31 families and Resumo.

The prototype was designed based on an existing concept, exploring specific issues related to ankle mobility, user's ergonomics and structural customization. The evaluation of the exoskeleton performance was performed by 15 volunteers belonging to the Portuguese Army, based on the 6MWT. The exoskeleton was tested considering three force elements with different stiffnesses to assess the influence of this parameter in its performance. A qualitative analysis was also performed to assess the users' perception during the trials. Results showed a reduction of the metabolic costs in 10 subjects, presenting an average value of 3%. Moreover, the results indicate that the selection of the force elements and the tuning of the spring-engaging mechanism plays a key role in the efficiency of the developed solution.

In this paper, we present a simple model that is able to generate descriptive sentences given a sample image. This model has a strong focus on the syntax of the descriptions. We train a purely bilinear model that learns a metric between an image representation (generated from a previously trained Convolutional Neural Network) and phrases that are used to described them. The system is then able to infer phrases from a given image sample. Based on caption syntax statistics, we propose a simple language model that can produce relevant descriptions for a given test image using the phrases inferred. Our approach, which is considerably simpler than state-of-theart models, achieves comparable results on the recently release Microsoft COCO dataset.

To ensure a good visual coherence and a high class accuracy, it is essential for a scene parser to capture image long range dependencies. In a feed-forward architecture, this can be simply achieved by considering a sufficiently large input context patch, around each pixel to be labeled. We propose an approach consisting of a recurrent convolutional neural network which allows us to consider a large input context, while limiting the capacity of the model. Contrary to most standard approaches, our method does not rely on any segmentation methods, nor any task-specific features. The system is trained in an end-to-end manner over raw pixels, and models complex spatial dependencies with low inference cost. As the context size increases with the built-in recurrence, the system identifies and corrects its own errors. Our approach yields state-of-the-art performance on both the Stanford Background Dataset and the SIFT Flow Dataset, while remaining very fast at test time.

They assume that nodes as well as networks must not be aware of mobility and behave as if they were static, and that any new developments must preserve that assumption. This is putting unnecessary pressure on network devices ...

These derive not only from lack of appropriate functionality but also from the inability to cope with very large-scale scenarios, thus limiting simulations to scenarios for which the impact of architectural and performance differences i s hardly relevant or non-existent. Different network mobility paradigms have different consequences in terms of signalling load, performance and scalability. In this paper, a comparison of three network mobility paradigms is presented, namely the legacy-compatible, the infrastructure-centric and the end-nodecentric network mobility paradigms. The study is unprecedented not only because the three paradigms encompass most of the existing network mobility solutions, but also because it involves scenarios with up to 22,800 routers, 11,250 networks, more than 27,000 nodes (fixed and mobile) and up to 16 levels of network mobility nesting. The obtained results point to the very good potential of the end-node-centric network mobility paradigm.

This is the first study on the diet of these species in direct sympatry. The stomach contents of seven Guiana dolphins Sotalia guianensis and eight franciscanas Pontoporia blainvillei were analyzed. The prey of both cetaceans was mostly teleost fishes, followed by cephalopods. We identified 13 teleost fishes as part of the diet of the franciscanas, and 20 as part of the diet of Guiana dolphins. Lolliguncula brevis was the only cephalopod recorded, and was the most important prey for both cetaceans. Stellifer rastrifer and Gobionellus oceanicus were also important for franciscana, so as Mugil curema and Micropogonias furnieri were important for Guiana dolphins. Stellifer rastrifer and Cetengraulis edentulus were the fishes with the highest frequency of occurrence for franciscana (50%), while Achirus lineatus, C. edentulus, S. brasiliensis, Cynoscion leiarchu...

They interact with specific members of family 2 B1 G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), which have been characterised in teleosts and mammals. Two PTH/PTHrP receptors, PTH1R and PTH2R exist in mammals and in teleost fish a further receptor PTH3R has also been identified. Recently in chicken, PTH-family members involved in calcium transport were characterized and specific PTHRs are suggested to exist although they have not yet been isolated or functionally characterized. The aim of this study is to further explore the evolution and function of the vertebrate PTH/PTHrP system through the isolation, phylogenetic analysis and functional characterization of the chicken receptors. Results Two PTHRs were isolated in chicken and sequence comparison and ...
