Dall'analisi emerge l'interesse di Boccaccio per i molteplici rapporti che intercorrono tra i comportamenti violenti delle folle e la sfera del religioso.

the first time by the French publisher Éditions Bernard Grasset. Although
that year lies approximately halfway through Girard’s long and productive life (1923-2015), the work probably represents the finest theoretical
contribution born of his brilliant mind. The pillars of what would be
known later as “mimetic theory” find here their most convincing illustration, which was never abjured or changed, in its fundamental guidelines, by his creator. Therefore, the present volume...

In Job: The victim of his people Girard stated that in a hypothetical Job-like case, the Freudian psychotherapist – or Freud himself – would have put Job away in a psychiatric ward for insuperable repression. Was Girard suggesting that psychoanalytical therapy was founded on patient-blaming, that is a particular form of scapegoat mechanism? I will explore this hypothesis, and I will highlight the valid points and the flaws of this critique and evaluate the extent to which Girard’s insight can help us shed light on the therapeutic effectiveness of Freud’s techniques.

In this paper we will focus on four accounts in order to clarify the relation between a mass of human individuals and the role of a leader. These explanations are developed respectively by Weber, Le Bon, Freud and Girard. Even if our work is theoretical, we will briefly mention the French Revolution as solid example for a better understanding of mass-leader relation.

These cases have been built with the purpose of denying that in order to hold a person responsible, it is necessary this person could have done otherwise, namely there were alternative possibilities. I present here two arguments according to which Frankfurt's cases did not succeed in this attempt. In the first argument I will focus, from and ethical and a logical point of view, on the Principle of Alternative Possibilities, and I will show that the Frankfurt-style cases are not truly able to falsify it. The second argument is semantical and concerns the formulation of Frankfurt example.

The issue is of great interest, insofar it challenges liberalist theorists due to its dualistic nature: on one hand pornography should in fact benefit from all the advantages granted by the freedom of expression; on the other hand it can be considered harmful for women.
