It is shown that impulsivity modifies the discount function of each individual, and false consensus effect increases the degree of consensus in a multi-agent decision problem. Analyzing them together we note that in strategic interactions these two human factors involve choices which change equilibriums expected by rational individuals.

Some significant examples are presented to describe how properties of Riesz spaces can be used to express preferences. Riesz spaces allow us to combine the advantages of many approaches. We also provide a characterization of collective choice rules which satisfy some classical criteria in social choice theory and an abstract approach to social welfare functions.

Oxytocin-induced (100nm) contractility was measured before and after treatment with HPC-OH, HPC, or progesterone (1um) for 30 minutes. Myometrial contractile frequency and force (AUC) were determined for each treatment over a 4-hour period and normalized to a matched vehicle control (DMSO). Statistical analysis was by student t-test (GraphPad Prism 7.0a), and significance was defined as p < 0.05. RESULTS: Myometrial biopsies were taken from 13 unlabored cesarean deliveries. Compared to an untreated control, oxytocininduced contractile frequency was decreased by progesterone (63% +/-18%, p<0.0001), HPC (71% +/-15%, p<0.0001), and HPC-OH (67% +/-21%, p¼0.0001). Only progesterone and HPC-OH decreased oxytocin-induced contractile force (75% +/-30%, p¼ 0.033 and 66% +/-33%, p¼0.008, respectively) compared to the control (Figure). HPC-OH demonstrated a greater reduction in contractile force when compared directly to HPC (64% +/-33%, p¼0.028). CONCLUSION: HPC-OH demonstrates greater reduction of myometrial contractility than its parent compound, and may be partially responsible for the clinical effectiveness attributed to HPC.

To do this, we have employed different approaches; the two main methodologies treated in this study consider that all non-central moments of the capitalization factor are known, or contrarily some of them are unknown. Consequently, five different approaches have been developed and the practical application of the proposed methods is reflected in this paper by pricing an annuity with a random risk-free interest rate during the last ten years. The version is available from CRAN: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/AnnuityRIR/index.html.

Many ideas were introduced and studied in detail to manage with these problems. Now we briefly expose the main formal concepts which describe non-ideal situations, i.e. Probability, Statistics and Fuzzy Logic. Probability has recent origins with respect to other branches of mathematics which have deep roots in the past, like geometry or algebra. We may say all this started with Antoine Gombaud, Chevalier de Mere (1607–1684), who asked Blaise Pascal (1623–1662) about gambling with dice. The correspondence between Pierre de Fermat and Blaise Pascal, which began in 1654, initially on these questions, led to the introduction of basic concepts, i.e. probability and expectation. Only in 1657, Christian Huygens in "De Ratiociniis in ludo aleae" proposed a first systematic study of the new branch of mathematics. However, the need of an axiomatic construction of the theory of probability arose to analyze more ...

We assume that any decision maker d k assigns to any pair (alternative Ai, objective Oj) a number a ijk that measures to what extent Ai satisfies Oj. We assume that Ω is a subset of a universal set U and, for every alternative Ai and decision maker d k , the function m ik that associates a ijk to Oj is a fuzzy measure. We propose to aggregate the scores a ijk by means of a t-conorm ⊕ λ of a family Φ λ of t-conorms such that every m ik is a ⊕ λ-decomposable measure. We consider also some algebraic and geometric representations of the Archimedean fuzzy unions and their additive generators in terms of the theory of hypergroups. By considering the Oj as events, we propose also to assign the scores a ijk in such a way that for some λ the assessment is consistent and to aggregate such evaluations with the correspondent t-conorm ⊕ λ. Finally we generalize the previous procedure by considering fuzzy measures of type 2, having as a range a set of fuzzy numbers with the interval [0, 1] as support.

The majority chapters describe tools and techniques of broadly perceived computational intelligence, notably fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation, neural networks and some non-standard probabilistic and statistical analyses. Due to the high complexity of the systems and problems considered, in many situations it is necessary to consider at the same time analytic, topological and statistical aspects and apply appropriate procedures and algorithms. This volume is a direct result of vivid discussions held during the Fifth International Workshop on Dynamics of Social and Economical Systems (DYSES) which was held at Benevento, Italy September 20-25, 2010, as well as a couple of post-workshop meetings and consultations.
