Oldest known herbal is Pen- t’sao written by emperor Shen-Nung around 3000 years. It contains 365 drugs, one for each day of the year. Indians worked meticulously to examine and classify the herbs. Charaka made 50 groups of 10 herbs, each of which would suffice an ordinary physician's need. Cryptostegia grandiflora Linn Roxb. (Apocynaceae), commonly known as “Vilayti vakundi” is found all in dry area in India. The study includes preparation of different extracts by successive solvent extraction for detail analysis. Fluorescence analysis of different successive extract and powder were noted under UV light and normal ordinary light, which signifies there characteristics. Preliminary qualitative chemical test for different extracts showed presence of glycosides, flavonoids, fixed oil and fats, phenolic compounds, protein and amino acids, tannins, gum and mucilage and carbohydrates. Every indicator shows different range of colors at different pH ranges. Synthetic indicators have been widely employed as indicators in acid-base titrations; however, due to environmental pollution, availability and cost, natural compounds are best alternates. Natural pigments in plants are highly colored substances and may show sharp color changes with variation in pH. In the present study an attempt has been made to extract natural indicator from flower of Aristolochia bracteolate. The equivalence points of the titrations namely strong acid-strong base, strong acid-weak base, weak acid-strong base and weak acid weak base titrations, using flower extract of A. bracteolate were coincident with the equivalence points obtained by the synthetic indicator phenolpthalein. From the result...

So, they use various beauty products that have herbs to look charming and young. Herbal cosmetics are now-a-days widely used by the common people because of concept of fewer side effects and with a better safety and security profile. The present work was aimed to formulate herbal oil for general purpose (application in hairs) using various herbs. The formulated hair oil contain different herbal plants which are traditionally utilized for hair growth plants used are Triphala, Nirgudi, Licorice, Jatamansi, Aloe vera, Shatavari, til oil and coconut oil. The formulated herbal oil was evaluated and various parameters such as viscosity, saponification value, pH etc.

The Alzheimer's disease once considered a rare disorder and it is now seen as a major public health problem that is seriously affecting millions of older people and their families world over. The incidence of AD ranges from 1 to 4 percent of the population per year rising from its lowest level at ages 65 to 70 years to rates that may approach 6 percent for those over the age of 85 years. Strategies for neurorescue, neurorepair, neuroprotection or treatment are being actively pursued by the basic, translational, and clinical research communities. As our population ages, the already enormous impact of neurodegeneration on society will become even larger without better prevention and treatment. In all cultures, the origins of herbal medicine are lost in the mists of time. There is little doubt that humans used herbs for healing well before anything could be written about them. At some point in an advancing culture, written documents become the repository for knowledge that had been passed on from one generation to the next. Among the earliest such documents are those describing the religious beliefs of the people and those describing the medical practices.

Pharmacovigilance also known as drug safety, is the pharmacological science relating to the collection, detection, assessment, monitoring, and prevention of adverse effects with pharmaceutical products. As such, pharmacovigilance heavily focuses on adverse drug reactions, or ADRs, which are defined as any response to a drug which is noxious and unintended, including lack of efficacy (the condition that this definition only applies with the doses normally used for the prophylaxis, diagnosis or therapy of disease, or for the modification of physiological disorder function was excluded with the latest amendment of the applicable legislation). Hence, need of pharmacovigilance arises which include, securing the early detection of new adverse reactions or patients subgroups of exceptional sensitivity; and introducing certain measures in order to manage such risks. Moreover, it is essential that new and medically still evolving treatments are monitored for their effectiveness and safety under real-life conditions after being marketed. The role of pharmacovigilance is to check the safety monitoring in clinical trials involves collecting adverse events, laboratory investigations and details of the clinical examination of patients. Pharmacovigilance staff may be involved to varying degrees in all phases of clinical trials, including the planning, execution, data analysis and reporting of safety.
