The online texts retrieved from five out of 50 top MLM official websites were compiled in a small and specialised MLM corpus comprising 5812 word tokens. Data were analysed using Laurence Anthony's concordance software (Ant Conc 3.4.4. for Windows 2014).Results from the Word List showed that the five most frequent persuasive words in the specialised corpus are products, business, health, quality, and world, consecutively. Meanwhile, the word products collocated strongly with the words business, quality, and nature. These words function as MLM rhetorical device used to persuade buyers in MLM business website texts. Gaining adequate receptive vocabulary knowledge would enhance a university student's comprehension of academic texts. This descriptive study aims to investigate the receptive vocabulary knowledge among English major university students in Malaysia and Thailand. The sample comprises 80 English major students from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia and 86 English major students from Prince Songkla University (PSU), Thailand. A Vocabulary Size Test (VST) adopted from Nation and Beglar was employed to gather the primary data from the respondents about their receptive vocabulary knowledge. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0 was used for data analysis. Results showed that, on average, UniSZA students had a higher VST score (44.64%) compared to that of PSU students (20.92%). The higher average score gained by UniSZA students was mainly due to early exposure to formal English education in schools. This study recommends preparing students with explicit academic vocabulary instruction, particularly in the beginning semester of an English programme, to meet the academic and professional needs of English major students in future. Keywords: Receptive vocabulary, productive vocabulary, Vocabulary Size Test (VST), breadth of vocabulary knowledge, depth of vocabulary knowledge.

Yet it is often questionable from a practical standpoint and ability of its implementation in the context of the open and global economy especially when involving American products. Among the brands included in the list of businesses to be boycotted is Kentucky Fried Chicken Holding (KFCH) Malaysia, which in fact also involved and contribute to Muslims’ economic and finance in Malaysia. The demand of Islamic law, the practicality of the business world and the reality of the Muslim world should be considered. Hence this paper has been compiled with the aim of analyzing the wise approach of KFCH Malaysia on how to apply the demand of boycotting Israeli and goods. To achieve the objective, this study inductively and deductively analyses information gathered through documents and literature reviews within the framework of Fiqh al-Waqi ' (Fiqh based on reality). The study found that this boycott is not practical in Malaysia and should be evaluated based on factors that would be an advantage or ease and not detrimental or difficult to the Muslim community.

It also examines the application of this principle at Sabasun HyperRuncit Kuala Terengganu. Halalan Tayyiba principle is a concept derived from a word that appear in sentence 172 of Chapter 2 (Al-Baqarah – The Cow) of the holy Qur’an. The sentence teaches Muslim consumers to choose good food for consumption and not to make halal criteria as the sole focus. Sabasun HyperRuncit of Kuala Terengganu has applied this principle and it is a visible evidence offered to support that an Islamic business model can be practiced in its entirety. Product marketing is one of the aspects in Halalan Tayyiba concept that has been made a focal point by Sabasun. In conclusion, a unique product marketing plan that is based on Halalan Tayyiba concept has been successfully implemented by Sabasun HyperRucit.
