Vengono presentati i risultati delle recenti indagini topografiche condotte a Corbetta e Albairat... more Vengono presentati i risultati delle recenti indagini topografiche condotte a Corbetta e Albairate (MI), due comuni di pianura in piena fascia delle risorgive, con lo scopo di ricavarne una carta archeologica. La ricerca, attuata attraverso i metodi tradizionali della topografia archeologica e tecnologie quali il rilievo fotogrammetrico con drone, ha portato alla mappatura in GIS delle evidenze documentarie, archeologiche
e paleoambientali dei due comuni. Viene qui formulato un primo tentativo
di lettura diacronica del territorio tra la Preistoria e il Medioevo.

"Archaeological topography in the western countryside of Milan. Towards a map of the archaeological potential for the municipalities of Corbetta and Albairate"
The paper presents the results of a topographic study carried out in the municipalities of Corbetta and Albairate, in the western countryside of Milan (Italy), in the so-called spring area, aimed at mapping features representative of the archaeological potential. The research framework is multidisciplinary, including traditional methods of archaeological topography and innovative approaches like drone photogrammetry
and GIS-based archaeological and paleoenvironmental mapping.
This paper delivers the first outcomes of the interpretation of the landscape development in the longue durée, from Prehistory to Middle Ages.

The paper offers some reflections developed within a topographical study about the territories of... more The paper offers some reflections developed within a topographical study about the territories of Corbetta e Albairate, in the western Province of Milan (Lombardy). Data from LiDAR DTM analysis and field survey, together with considerations based on the literature review, allow us to hypothesize different degrees of ancient landscape conservation and destruction of the archaeological record. Moreover, it is possible to reflect on the principal causes of such phoenomena. Within this framework, archaeological mapping plays a key role for research and for land and cultural heritage protection.

The aim of this project is to systematize all the archaeological evidence within the municiplaiti... more The aim of this project is to systematize all the archaeological evidence within the municiplaities of Corbetta and Albairate (MI) and to identify new sites through traditional methods and new technologies. The research steps were: the collection of the existing informations, including the unpublished documents from Archivio Pisani Dossi; the analysis of vertical, historical, aerial photographs; the ground truth checking of sites and anomalies through field survey and drone survey, with both visbile and thermic cameras. Images, captured with photogrammetry standards, were elaborated to obtain 3D models, orthophotos and DEMs. All data were managed in a GIS environment.

Il progetto di tesi ha lo scopo di mettere a sistema le evidenze archeologiche e documentarie not... more Il progetto di tesi ha lo scopo di mettere a sistema le evidenze archeologiche e documentarie note nei due comuni, tra Preistoria e Medioevo, e di localizzare nuovi siti attraverso i metodi tradizionali della topografia archeologica e l'impiego di tecnologie innovative.

Sono state raccolte tutte le informazioni edite e inedite (Archivio Pisani Dossi), è stata svolta la fotointerpretazione delle foto aeree disponibili per i due comuni e sono state condotte verifiche sul campo, attraverso ricognizioni di superficie e ricognizioni aeree; queste ultime hanno previsto l'utilizzo di un drone dotato di camera visiva e termocamera.

I dati raccolti sono stati utilizzati, ove possibile, per proporre modelli insediativi diacronici per il territorio indagato.
