Trust is an invaluable asset, while sharing is an important social driver in the modern world. Peer-to-peer platforms in the realm of the Sharing Economy are Airbnb and BlaBlaCar. The analysis of this work refers to the so-called triangular structure of trust. The decision to rent or take a trip is linked to spending time with the service provider involves face-to-face interaction, that why the Sharing Economy services need to draw attention to sociological aspects of trust building, that could include different types of discrimination. The main goal of this graduate work is to better understand the trusting decision process involving consumers and providers. Experimental framework was based on Trust Game designed by Berg et al. in 1995 and created a sort of Sharing Game. Analysis of real collected data through Lime survey confirm that the Millennials uses sharing services at most. The level of general trust was unexpectedly very high. Majority of respondents used Airbnb and BlaBlaCar in the past. It results that the level of trust in women is higher than in men from both genders. Instead the average level of trust in the same nationality and trust in other nationality is almost identical. There were not found a strong discrimination effect, as was found in other American researchers provided by Edelman and Luca in 2014. Instead was found strong gender discrimination effect. Providing more relevant information about actors in markets may be an effective strategy to reduce any discrimination effects.

Trust can be defined as an attitude, a feeling, that is culturally and historically determined, and that is why we hypothesized that there might be differences between countries. The aim of our research is to discover how one of the most known Sharing Economy businesses, Airbnb, engages trust among its users. We have conducted a cross cultural study into two different countries, Italy and Ukraine. In order to explore and analyze the topic, we used a qualitative approach based on collecting data by conducting face-to-face interviews of males and females between 20 and 25 years old (CreActives). And interesting fact is that a lot of people in Ukraine do not even know about the existence of the Airbnb service, while in Italy the situation is opposite. In both countries, people, who we interviewed, use Airbnb service just for traveling. In Italy, people use Airbnb to travel everywhere, inside their own country, through Europe but also to other continents. In Ukraine, the use of Airbnb is reduced to almost nothing. People use Airbnb only in the case of traveling abroad (Europe or America), but not inside their own country. All Ukrainians underlined their motives for why they use Airbnb rather than traditional accommodation or other similar hospitality services, and they spoke about the importance of a personal contact between a host and a guest. Not all the Italians attach such a high importance to the personal contact, for this sample the results are more complex. We conclude that there are effectively some differences in trust levels between the two countries, which can be attributed to cultural differences.

The research aim is to analyze the relationship between life satisfaction and a few socioeconomic factors at different periods of times, specifically before, immediately after and 5 year after Bulgaria and Romania integrated in European Union. The approach is based on a linear and multilinear regression analysis of the Eurobarometer data. Our key finding is that the European Union membership increased the average life satisfaction in Bulgaria, while it had a negative, but statistically insignificant effect in Romania right after the integration. On the other hand, in 5 years after the integration in the European Union, both countries increased the average of life satisfaction, and the effect is statistically significant. We also show that those who benefited the most from the European Union integration were the employed with a high skill occupation and skilled occupation, as well as those who ended their education and those who are still studying. Our findings are significant for the European Union integration policy and future extensions.

With a multilevel regression model, we test if both individual level variable, such as gender, age, level of education and income, and the GDP pro capita (country level determinant) affects the aforementioned relationship. Results indicate that the concept of religiosity is bimodal: forms of religiosity that promote attendance and participation are positively associate with life satisfaction, on the contrary, the part of religiosity that involves belief has a negative effect on the individual level of life satisfaction. We found, also, that higher is the level of GDP pro capita in the analysed countries, higher is the level of life satisfaction; furthermore, the gross domestic does not produces a diversification in the way that religiosity influence the level of satisfaction among countries.
