This study was conducted to examine the influence of financial structure on the cash holding levels of listed consumer goods companies in Nigeria. Ex-post-facto research design was adopted involving the use of secondary data as published by ten (10) companies selected from the population of 21 consumer goods companies listed on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) for the period of 11 years (2012-2022). Descriptive statistics, simple linear regressions were used to analyze data collected. Cash and cash equivalent was used as the proxy for cash holding while firm size, leverage and debt-equity ratio were the proxy for financial structure. The result of the study indicated that firm size (β = .080, t = 13.342, p = .000) had a positive and significant influence on cash holding; leverage (β =-.009, t =-.166, p = .869) and debt-equity ratio (β =-.056, t =-.937, p-value = .351) had a negative and insignificant influence on cash holding level of consumer goods companies in Nigeria. Hence, it was concluded that of the three attributes considered, firm size exerts the most significant influence on the cash holding level of listed consumer goods companies in Nigeria. It was recommended that larger companies should assess their financial structure and consider the trade-offs between debt and cash holdings.

Data were obtained from the annual reports of 12 selected, listed commercial banks in Nigeria from 2012 to 2022. The multiple regression technique was used to test the hypothesis of the study. The results of the analysis revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between earnings persistence and the financial sustainability of commercial banks in Nigeria (t = 4.318, p = 0.000, p < 0.05). This is particularly pertinent, given the spate of recurring unpalatable incidences in the Nigerian banking sub-sector even after the 2005 consolidation. The objective of the study was to examine the influence of bank liquidity on lending behaviour of DMBs in Nigeria. Twelve (12) listed DMBs were selected using the convenience sampling technique. The ex post facto research design was adopted and secondary data drawn from the sampled DMBs from 2006 to 2020 were used for analysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The results revealed that bank liquidity significantly influences lending behaviour of DMBs. However, the loan to total assets ratio was found to exert the highest relative influence on lending behaviour of DMBs. It was therefore recommended that DMBs should prioritize the maintenance of a dynamic loan to total assets ratio. Also the Central Bank of Nigeria and other regulatory bodies should be more proactive in ensuring DMBs' liquidity and sustainability.

This study examined the effect of financial efficiency, operational efficiency and resource efficiency on earnings quality of 12 listed commercial banks in Nigeria. Firm size and inflation were introduced as control variables. In line with the ex post facto research design that was adopted for the study, quantitative financial information was extracted from the financial reports for the sampled banks for the period of 11 years (2012-2022) based on which relevant ratios were computed. The result of the multiple regression analysis revealed that financial efficiency and operational efficiency did not significantly affect earnings quality. Resource efficiency was however found to have a significant effect on earnings quality. It was recommended that banks should continue to monitor and improve their financial efficiency, streamline operational processes and optimize the allocation of their resources. It was concluded that while traditional measures of efficiency may not directly influence earnings quality, prudent resource management remains crucial for the long-term success of commercial banks in Nigeria.

Taking cognizance of the business enhancing digital possibilities of the 21 st century technological innovations, this paper sought to examine the influence of adopting cutting edge information technology (IT) on the development of SMEs in Nigeria. The data for the study were gathered through the administration of questionnaire to judgmentally sampled SME operators in Nigeria. These data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance. The results and findings of the study revealed about 27.7% level of IT adoption by the SME operators. The result showed that adoption of cutting edge information technology impact positively on the development of SMEs in Nigeria. The low level of IT adoption by SME development was traced to the pessimism and negative perception of SME operators. It is therefore recommended that IT awareness initiatives and IT usage trainings should be organized for SME operators in order to increase their effective adoption. Also, Government should endeavour to make available subsidized IT infrastructure for SME operators. These and other policy initiatives would significantly facilitate the much desired repositioning and development of SMEs in Nigeria.

The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised FIRS Officers, tax researchers, tax practitioners, as well as operators and clients of etransaction activities in Nigeria. The findings, among other issues, highlighted poor implementation of existing tax laws as well as the need to modify and update tax laws as the major challenges of implementing VAT on e-transactions in Nigeria. In view of its emerging preeminence in some countries of the world contrasted with the apparent backwardness of most African countries in respect of this move, this study sought to examine the implications of XBRL adoption in Nigeria. Adopting a survey design, mean scores and t-test statistic were employed to compare the perceptions of Nigerian professional accountants on the benefits and challenges of XBRL adoption in Nigeria. All these were based on questionnaire responses elicited from 54 out of the 100 copies of questionnaire generated for the study. The findings of the study, among others, revealed that there were perceptual differences among the respondents on the two issues. It is suggested that professional, national and sponsored international XBRL awareness and training would be of the essence if Nigerian Accountants are to find a space on the global map of professional relevance.

Thus an empirical investigation covering a period of 19 years (1999-2017) was conducted to ascertain the effect of cost-based and profit based tax policy incentives on FDI in Nigeria. In line with the ex post facto research design adopted for the study, secondary data were sourced from CBN bulletins and World Bank Database. Multiple regression techniques was used in analysing the three models that were formulated. The findings revealed that although the cost based tax policy incentives had some relatively stronger effect on FDI (with R 2 of .230) compared to profit based tax policy incentives (with R 2 of .045), yet there was no significant relationship found between cost based tax policy incentives, profit based tax policy incentives and FDI in Nigeria. It was therefore recommended that non-tax incentive initiatives should be considered as a necessary complement to the tax policy incentives in order to attract and stabilize FDI in Nigeria.
