This article presents results of two sets of extortion tests under monotonous and repeated loadin... more This article presents results of two sets of extortion tests under monotonous and repeated loadings conducted on the metallic armatures presenting various shapes of roughness (veined, punched, W-shaped, chain) and inserted in the same embankment of sand. These results show that the rough armatures are in the same way more advantageous than the smooth armature type. Among the considered rough armatures, the chain is most effective. This paper presents and analyzes the results of a series of laboratory tests of compaction, penet... more This paper presents and analyzes the results of a series of laboratory tests of compaction, penetration and free swelling performed on an expansive clay obtained from a site situated in Sidi-Aissa city (wilaya of M'sila, Algeria), where important disorders frequently appears in the road infrastructures and in the small buildings. Tests results obtained show that the parameters values deduced from these tests are concordant and confirm the bearing capacity improvement of the expansive clay treated with cement

Cette communication presente les principales caracteristiques du programme d'asservissement d... more Cette communication presente les principales caracteristiques du programme d'asservissement d'une machine de torsion sur eprouvettes cylindriques creuses. Ce programme permet d'assurer en temps reel des taches d'acquisition des mesures (force axiale, couple de torsion, pressions interne et externe appliquees au cylindre, pression interstitielle, deplacement axial, trois deplacements radiaux externes, deplacement radial interne, distorsion, deplacement des pistons du generateur de pression et du volumetre, date et heure de scrutation) et le pilotage des moteurs (presse, generateur de pression, volumetre, generateur de torsion) qui controlent le chargement conformement a l'asservissement defini par l'experimentateur. This paper presents the stability calculation results of an unstable slope located in Tizi-N’Bech... more This paper presents the stability calculation results of an unstable slope located in Tizi-N’Bechar city (Province of Setif, Algeria) and proposes a solution for its reinforcement. Stability calculations show that this urbanized slope is potentially unstable. Among the possible solutions of its reinforcement, upstream pickling and downstream filling appear to be the most appropriate technique. However, this solution is insufficient when the slope will be subjected to a slight seism combined with a water table located at half-height of it. Reinforcement of this unstable urbanized slope by means of upstream nailing and downstream piling combined with an anchored wall at toe is thus necessary.

This paper is to investigate the behavior of sand-steel interfaces under cyclic loading. A series... more This paper is to investigate the behavior of sand-steel interfaces under cyclic loading. A series of direct shear test results performed on a dune sand in contact with a stainless steel rigid plate, as well as those of a numerical simulation carried out using the Plaxis-2D (version 8.2) software were presented and discussed. The cyclic shear experimental and numerical curves are fairly well concordant. These curves make it possible to conclude that the sand-steel interface cyclic shear modulus and the corresponding damping ratio were influenced by the sand compactness and the steel plate roughness. The results also show that the rough plate is more effective than the smooth one mainly when it is in contact with a dense sand than with loose sand.

This paper presents the results of slope stability calculations carried out on an urbanized natur... more This paper presents the results of slope stability calculations carried out on an urbanized natural slope located in Aomar city (wilaya of Bouira, Algeria), of which rupture caused important damages in the slope itself and in the surrounding works. These calculations aim at analyzing the probable causes of rupture of the slope (seism, groundwater table, loading upstream, unloading downstream) in order to propose the adequate measurements of stabilization. Computation results obtained show that it is the combined action of several negative factors which started the slipping.

L'influence des non-linearites de comportement des sols fins sur le calcul des ouvrages soute... more L'influence des non-linearites de comportement des sols fins sur le calcul des ouvrages souterrains est analyse a travers deux exemples. Un modele elastique de type hyperbolique et le modele Cam-Clay modifie auquel est associee une loi elastique non lineaire ont ete utilises. Les principaux resultats de leur application au calcul d'un tunnel creuse dans un massif de sol marneux homogene mettent en evidence l'influence de la non-linearite de la deformation sur la courbe de convergence du terrain. Les travaux presentes ont pour objectifs de determiner les proprietes mecaniques de l'argile ... more Les travaux presentes ont pour objectifs de determiner les proprietes mecaniques de l'argile molle de Guiche (vallee de l'Adour) et de verifier l'applicabilite des concepts d'etat limite et d'etat critique a ce sol naturel. Le choix de cette argile est lie a l'edification de plusieurs remblais d'essais pour la construction de l'autoroute A 64. Ces recherches visent en particulier a examiner les effets du temps sur le comportement a l'etat limite de l'argile et analyser son anisotropie ainsi que l'influence de la rotation des contraintes sur son comportement. La premiere partie comporte une synthese bibliographique sur l'etat des connaissances sur le comportement des argiles molles naturelles. Mesure de la perméabilité des argiles sous contrainte et température Résumé Cet article présente ... more Mesure de la perméabilité des argiles sous contrainte et température Résumé Cet article présente les résultats d'essais réalisés au moyen d'un appareil développé au G.3S pour l'étude de la perméabilité des argiles sous contrainte et température imposées. Les essais ont été réalisés sur une éprouvette d'argile prélevée à 30 m de profondeur sur le site de Provins. Cette éprouvette a été soumise à différents gradients hydrauliques sous diverses températures. Les résultats des mesures mettent en évidence l'influence de la température sur la perméabilité de l'argile et montrent que cette influence est due à des variations de la viscosité de l'eau interstitielle. Ces résultats semblent toutefois indiquer que la perméabilité est peu sensible aux variations du gradient hydraulique.
