Just as, for Vattimo, we must distance ourselves from the myth of an objective truth in favor of a truth understood as the fruit of a common hermeneutics, made up of sharing, dialogue, friendship and a dialectic that does not translate into violent opposition of sentences or doctrines, in the same way, for the philosopher of "weak thought", a new attitude towards religion is more than desirable. Religion, and Christianity in particular, is in fact proposed by Vattimo in its non-metaphysical, non-dogmatic dimension, to the full advantage of a true exercise of love/caritas. What are the limits of such a vision of metaphysics and what are the possible consequences deriving from Vattimo's invitation to the construction of a "non-religious" Christianity? In the choice of contributions, priority will be given to works that take into account specific aspects of the works cited above, also with a view to a possible future publication that aims to deal with the relationship between metaphysics, truth and violence in Christianity and, in general, in contemporary spirituality.

(4H).
The “horizontal” dimension of the posthumanist reflection on the equal dignity between all living beings – which together constitute “life” understood as “zoe”, without prevarications, hierarchies or privileges of species –, leads to what we could call an “immanent mysticism”. Within the posthuman “mysticism of immanence”, one can paradoxically find strong similarities
or analogies with some mystical/religious experiences belonging to various traditions, even very distant in terms of place or time. Inside the neo-materialist framework of Transhumanism and, even more so, of Posthumanism – radically anti-hierarchical and anti-dualist –, we want
to highlight the points in common and the main differences with both the mystical doctrines of the Western tradition (Franciscanism, Meister Eckhart, the speculation about the doctrines of kenosis etc.) and some oriental religious traditions (Buddhism, Jainism, etc.). These comparative
analyses raise many challenging questions: is a “not exclusively materialistic” posthumanism possible? To what extent can we speak of openess to a “spiritual” dimension within the many trans-/posthumanist proposals? This also raises the question of whether there is still room for the
proprium of religious experience within trans/posthumanist movements and by virtue of what this room can find its own justification.

Deleuze’s relationship with the history of philosophy and with Leibniz in particular is a relatio... more Deleuze’s relationship with the history of philosophy and with Leibniz in particular is a relationship that was developed for over twenty years. It enables us to place the issue of Neo-Leibnizianism within the broader framework of style, stealing and Deleuze’s way of doing philosophy. This contribution stresses the fact that the term Neo-Leibnizianism was coined by Deleuze to indicate his own philosophy. Deleuze’s rereading of Leibnizian metaphysics – rereading also influenced by authors such as Simondon,
Péguy and Ruyer –, is analyzed through the reworking of some key concepts such as pre-individual singularities, vice-diction, event theory and chaosmos. Finally, Deleuze’s reinterpretation crystallizes into an ontology of capture and inclusion , which replace the Leibnizian variables of closure and selection. In the only transcendental plane admitted by Deleuze, the monad and the event itself become a passage of God, opening the way in an original manner also in Deleuze’s ontology to a suggestive and problematic theology of immanence.

A new Sonata by Baldassare Galuppi at the Cappella Antoniana Musical Archive, Padua

The discovery is reported of a new Galuppi sonata, from a manuscript found at the Cappella Antoniana Musical Archive, a section of the Biblioteca della Pontificia Basilica di Sant’Antonio, Padua. (This is also a chance to indirectly promote the rich heritage of that archive, yet largely unknown). The Sonata in D, in one movement, was located, along with another Sonata in B flat, in a manuscript from multiple composers, also including such lesser-known figures as Pazzaglia, Albertis, and Episcopi. This seems to be the only source for the Sonata in D, the other one being attested by two more manuscripts. The piece is transcribed in the Appendix.

Humans, Angels, And Cyborgs Aboard Theseus' Ship. Metaphysics, Mythology, And Mysticism in Trans-/Posthumanist Philosophies, 2024

The main purpose of this comparison is to invite transhumanists and critical posthumanists to consider a highly complex problematic tradition rooted in the history of philosophy.
This study also makes use of examples drawn from the history of mythology,
angelology, and mysticism. At the same time, the book promotes dialogue between scholars of classical metaphysics and philosophy of religion, and the potential metaphysical/spiritual theories developed independently by transhumanist and posthumanist thinkers within an anti-dualist and naturalistic philosophical framework.
The goal is to ‘enhance’ contemporary transhumanism and posthumanism by promoting the need to safeguard intelligence as a principle, without falling into the trap of a violent and egotistic metaphysics.

The book is divided into three parts. In the first one, the author presents a broad and very detailed list of relevant extracts from Leibniz’s whole opus philosophicum (from the first academic writings to the last works). In the second part, he highlights the more problematic texts amongst those previously listed, with the aim of providing them with a systematic order. This part is preceded by a short “doctrinal intermezzo” consisting of an essential biblical framework for the supernatural figure of the angels. Finally, the author analyzes the role of some specific angelological doctrines in the formation of the Leibnitian system: the idea of species infima; the scholastic doctrines about the spatial collocation of the angels and, especially, the doctrine of the corporeity sui generis, which is the red thread of this book.
