The objective of this study was to determine the efficacy of six weeks infrared radiation therapy on pain intensity and functional disability index in subjects suffering from non- specific low back pain Methods: The study was a pre-test post-test two group pre-experimental design. A total of fifty subjects (26 males and 24 females) of black African origin clinically diagnosed with non specific chronic low back pain that met the inclusion criteria were recruited for the study, but only 44 subjects (26 males and 18 females) completed the six weeks study. The subjects received infrared radiation therapy on the lower back region in prone lying for 30minutes, three times weekly, during the treatment period, for six weeks. Subjects' pre and post treatment pain level and functional disability scores were assessed using the lO point numerical rating pain scale and the Oswestry...

Other causes may be as a result of inflammation, unidirectional pelvic shear stress, and repetitive torsional forces, but no specific factor has been identified. Physiotherapy (PT) interventions used in the management of SIJ include repetitive exercises, manual joint mobilization, manipulation, bracing, massage, patient education, aerobic conditioning, exercise therapy and electrotherapeutic modalities although no systematic reviews exist on the effectiveness of combined physiotherapy interventions for the SIJD This case describes the effectiveness of a combined physiotherapy intervention in the conservative management of sacroiliac dysfunction. The patient was referred from a peripheral hospital with a 15month diagnosis of low back pain with difficulty in standing pain with sitting over time, and intermittent in nature and relieved with pain medications temporarily. Conclusion This case report suggests that combined physical therapy interventions relieves pain from sacroiliac dysfunction.

This increase in production during exercise has been understood to be the reason for fatigue. The aim of this study is to determine the responses of serum lactate to aerobic exercise among amateur athletes and non-athletes. 48 consenting males (24 amateur athletes and 24 non-athletes) participated in this comparative quasi-experimental design. Subjects cycled on a bicycle ergometer to attain moderate intensity exercise target heart rate (MIETHR) and maintained the MIETHR till exhaustion (15 on Borgs scale or volitional exertion) while the serum lactate was measured at intervals. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics of Analysis of variance (ANOVA). Alpha level was set at p < 0.05. The mean age of the participants was 26.08±2.28 and 28.13±1.51 for the athletes and non-athletes respectively. There was a significant difference p=0.001 Tra...

Background: Patient satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing quality of health care. Physiotherapy services is a core
service required to promote quality coverage of healthcare universally.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate patient satisfaction with physiotherapy services in a tertiary facility.
Materials and Method: A descriptive survey of 141 patients aged between 18 and 64years who received at least 3 sessions of
physiotherapy from June 2018 to December 2019. Data was collected using the Patient satisfaction questionnaire III (PSQ-III).
Results: The respondents were 56% males with 44% females. Respondents in the age range of 36-45years and employed in
the formal public sector were 47.5%. Respondents who had post-secondary education were 77.4%. Satisfaction with physical
therapy services was graded good (29.1%), very good (64.5%) and excellent (1.4%). Communication (95.7%), technical quality
(92.9%) and interpersonal aspects (90.1%) rated highest in satisfaction, time aspect had the highest grade of fairly satisfied
patients. Poor satisfaction responses were recorded against convenience, time spent and cost as most patients paid out of
pocket. Factors such as employment of physiotherapists, access to physiotherapy care and increase in number of visits
covered under various prepayment schemes would enhance quality of care delivered in the state.
Conclusion: Patient satisfaction is an important factor in improving the healthcare of patients. Patients were reasonably
satisfied with the services received. Factors identified to impact negatively, can be managed to improve the patient
experience.
Keywords: Physiotherapy, Patient satisfaction, Healthcare.
